Hello guys,
First off guys: we are a little bit annoyed here because the one forum sends us to another forum... We talked over this specific issue with a few colleague here, and we all agree upon the Windows 8 forum instead of the Outlook forum. In the end the target we drop our e-mail .msg files into, is the Windows 8 explorer, and that has nothing to do with Windows 8 metadata handling. But ok, we think our question wasn't read so well. Here we go:
This is the scenario. I am using Outlook 2013 and Windows 8 Enterprise.
- Simply drag a email from your inbox to a folder on your disk.
- Right-click on one of the column headers in Windows 8 Explorer (i am in details view) - and choose More...
- There are many e-mail related fields visible: from, to, cc, bcc, etc... select them all
It is obvious, the e-mail related fields do not use the file contents of a Outlook .msg file to fill in this metadata fields. But i was wondering how and with what this does work?
And does anybody know a way to fill this Windows Explorer metadata fields?
Don't redirect us to the Windows 8 forums!!
Already, thank you very much,
Sven
