I'm developing a script to update user's Autocomplete_Stream*.dat for a large Exchange migration with the help of NK2Edit. I'm getting pretty close using the following:
If AddressType equal "EX" EXToSMTP
If AddressType equal "SMTP" Replace "@oldDomain.com" "@newDomain.com" AutoFill
I found I had to go the NK2Edit route because not all of my autocomplete addresses were found in the suggested contacts folder, whether looking at them through Outlook or using Powershell to pull them down. The NK2Edit utility found them all. I tried keeping the contacts as Exchange types but none of the autocomplete entries updated when testing with the Exchange specific syntax.
So at this point the utility will fix the former Exchange type entries as long as the person was/is not listed in the user's contacts. Does anyone have a better method for this? I'd prefer to pull in all Autocomplete contacts using powershell.
