Conditional formatting in search folders

Hi

I like the idea of conditional formatting, and I successfully set some nice color coding for my emails, and it works great in all the folders.

However when it comes to search folders (Unread, Today, etc...) the conditional formatting doesn't update the email status successfully (Read/Unread).

for example I set it when the email is unread it has large bold font and when the email is read it should be smaller regular fonts, this works great in all folders, but when in a search folder the formatting is not respected at all.

is this a known issue? is there a fix for this?
