Hi all,
Have a system running Windows 7 64-bit, Office Pro 2010 w/ SP1 that has been having some problems opening attachments. Out of 60+ machines in our network, this is the only one with this issue:
- User tries to open a Word attachment (*.doc,*.docx) from Outlook
- Document opens Word 2010 in Protected view
- Document is fully visible for view only at this point (because of protected view)
- User clicks "Enable Editing"
- Microsoft Word opens to a gray screen
- It does show a word count however, so it appears the document has been opened
- If the file is saved to the desktop then opened, there are no problems opening the document
Now for the things we have tried so far:
- Ensured Zoom set to 100% in Word
- Changed layout from Print layout, to all other available options
- Checked Trust center settings in Word and Outlook against a machine that is working fine, all settings are the same
- Clean uninstall/reinstall of Office 2010 Pro w/SP1 - resolved the issue for a day, problem came back
At this point, it appears to be an issue with Outlook opening Word attachments. Has anyone ever seen this? The problem popped back up after the re installation of Office 2010, so I am at a loss. The only major difference with this machine from the others, is that it has a triple monitor setup, where all others have dual monitor setups. Any help or a different viewing angle would be very much appreciated.
