Task 'Synchronizing subscribed folders to xx@xx.com.' reported error (0x8004DF000 : 'Outlook cannot synchronize subscribed folders for xx@xx.com. Error: This IMAP command cannot be sent to the server before the connection was terminated. If you continue
to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'
When this happens, and I try to expand the folders in my IMAP account, I get:
'Cannot expand the folder. A TCP/IP error occurred while trying to connect to the server.
This will happen about 50% of the time. I've contacted my email provider and they can't find a problem on their end (webmail works fine). I've also tried using Thunderbird for a couple of days and have done so without a single problem fetching email or synching folders with that same account.
OS: Windows XP SP3(desktop) Window 7 SP1 (other desktop) - same error for both
Outlook: 2007 (12.0.6668.5000) SP3 MSO (12.0.6662.5000) - same for both workstations
IMAP port: 143
Timeout: 1min 40 sec (tried increasing this from 1 min, no effect).
