My Outlook 2010 starts up and connects to exchange. I can send and receive emails just fine. However, when I try to add a new item to my calendar or contacts and try to save it I get the message, The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action. Also, I am able to edit existing calendar items just fine. What could be causing this issue with the calendar and contacts, but not email -- even though I seem to be connected just fine. Other users with Outlook 2010 connecting to the same exchange server do not have this problem.
