Greetings,
I am testing the Outlook 2013 "Disable Autodiscover" policy setting to prevent autodiscover from trying the HttpsAutodiscoverDomain and the HttpsRootDomain. From what I read in the policy description, this should block any attempts to retrieve autodiscover information from autodiscover.%mydomain%.com. The problem we are having is that our smtp domain matches the domain used by our company's external facing web site, and the web folks aren't happy to see these requests for autodiscover hitting the company web site. I've implemented the policy via the local gp editor, restarted Outlook, but when I run a test autoconfiguration, Fiddler is still showing requests to autodiscover.%mydomain%.com. However, I don't see this activity when I launch Outlook and I kind of expect to see autodiscover lookups while Outlook is starting up. Outlook 2010 doesn't display this behavior when I perform the same autoconfiguration test. We're using the same ExcludeHttpsRootDomain registry key to suppress the behavior in Outlook 2010 and it seems to be working ok there as Fiddler does not show any attempts to reach autodiscover.%mydomain%.com. Can anyone repro this and let me know if we have a bug or something?
Thanks
Doug
