We have a user who is running Outlook 2003 with Office 2003 SP3 running on Windows XP with SP3. I know both are really outdated, but it will take many months before he is upgraded to a newer one.The Exchange version is Exchange Server 2003, SP2 and the Build Number is 6.5.7638.1.
The issue he is having is that his Outlook becomes unstable. Once the problem starts, emails no longer display correctly. Usually it will start with not displaying pictures correctly. After that when he tries to open any email, he gets the error "An error occurred when attempting to display this folder. Changing your folder view may correct the problem". He has done that, but it doesn't help him. Outlook doesn't close properly some of the time. In this case he has to go to Task Manager and kill Outlook.exe, then start it again. The instability occurs as much as three times in a day.
Has anyone run into this issue before, and is there a fix for it? I will be glad to provide any further information that might be required.
