Copy Inbox to PST file: Cannot copy folder. A top-level folder cannot be copied to one of its subfolders.

Platform: Windows 7, Outlook 2010 with Exchange 2010..

I'm converting a dotnet mailbox backup tool which has been built for Outlook/Exchange 2003 to W7/2010.

I am experiencing a strange issue when executing the following scenario (same result when doing it manually and programmatically).

- I create a new outlook data file (let's say backup.pst)
- I select the current Exchange Inbox folder, right click and select copy
- Then I select the newly created data file as the destination and click OK
- An error message is displayed saying : "Cannot copy the items. Cannot move or copy folders. Cannot copy folder. A top-level folder cannot be copied to one of its subfolders. Or, you may not have appropriate permissions for the folder. To check your permissions for the folder, right-click the folder, and then click Properties on the shortcut menu."
- Strangely enough, the folder and its content are actually copied..

Already checked:

- scenario works flawlessly on  xp/2003 platform
- all other folders (also the top level ones) are copied without any problems
- when copying an inbox folder from another PST file, no issues (in a no-Exchange scenario)
- tried the scenario on another environment with W7/Outlook 2010/Exchange 2007, no issues

Is this an Outlook 2010 with Exchange 2010 bug or am I missing something?
