Outlook 2007 password pst hung when enter password

In Outlook 2007 I have a password protected pst file. When I open Outlook
the window for the PST file password appears, but when I click the window to
enter the password, I immediately get "Not Responding" in the title bar and
Outlook freezes. I then need to shut down Outlook using Task Manager.
