outlook startup fails to start

I have read all the suggested articles.

started with:

1. Outlook started and then showed disconnected at the bottom right.

2. I check ed exchange servers and everything looks ok.

3. Went back to the user and deleted the outlook profile. (control panel and mail)

4. Started up outlook. Auto setup worked, filled in my name adn email address,

5.  Next brought up search for server settings.

6. check mark on estab network connection.

6. Arrow on search for user@domain.name server setting

hang

If anyone can tell me what are the actions between outlook and AD and Exchange during this initiation I sure would be greadfull, or just tell me where to look.  If you have experienced this scenario please tell me what you did to solve.
