Outlook 2010 unable to forward iCalendar request. - The messaging interface has returned an unknown error

I have a user with a unique error that I haven't been able to find a resolution for.

She is running Outlook 2010 Standard 32bit on a Windows XP machine SP3 with all current patches and updates.  Mail account is through an Exchange server.

As part of her job, if someone in her department is scheduling a day off, she creates an appointment in her Outlook calendar for that day and saves the appointment.  She then goes to that day in the Outlook calendar and opens the appointment.  She forwards the appointment to the supervisors and managers of the department as an iCalendar so that they may place it in their own Calendars to be aware of staffing needs.

This worked seamlessly for her when she was using Outlook 2003.  She was recently updated to Outlook 2010. Since that time, anytime she attempts to 'forward as iCalendar' she immediately gets error message, "The Operation Failed. The messaging interfaces returned an unknown error.  If the problem persists restart Outlook."

The event log shows the following error regarding this problem:

Microsoft Outlook
The operation failed.  The messaging interfaces have returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook.
P1: 301670
P2: 14.0.4763.1000
P3: 6xk3
P4: 0x80040103

I have checked under FILE > Options and on the General Options tab verified that Outlook is set as the default program for E-mail, Contacts and Calendar.

I have run the repair utility on her Office 2010, completely uninstalled and re-installed it.  I have had her run Outlook in safe mode and I have run the scanpst.exe on her inbox and pst files, but none of this has resolved the problem.

One thing that I have noticed, is that she is able to just forward the item.  It's only when she attempts to forward it as iCalendar that the error happens.

She is able to open iCalendar formatted messages that are sent to her and add them to her Calendar.

This is the only type of message that she receives this error for.  All of the other functions in Outlook and her Calendar are working with no issues.

I've been trying to find a solution for this for several weeks now and every thing that I have checked appears to be okay on her system.  If anyone has any ideas or suggestions to check, I would greatly appreciate it.  Thank you in advance.
