This is not the way it worked in the 2007 version - and I work for an executive that has several assistants/delegates, who need access to and receive copies of his meeting-related emails for various reasons. With the 2007 version, I was able to respond to the meetings that I was responsible for, for this executive, and leave the others for him or his other assistants to deal with, while deleting them from my in-box. With 2007, deleting them from MY in-box did not affect the invitation, but left it for the exec or his other assistants to deal with as they pleased. In the 2010 version, if I delete the ones that I don't need to see, even if the exec or one of his other assistants has already "tentatively accepted" it, it will still delete the meeting from his calendar - because it was not "accepted"?!?! This is not a good revision of the software. MY QUESTION IS: Does anyone know if there is a way to "turn off" this feature, so that I can delete certain meeting-related emails from MY in-box without having them delete from his in-box or calendar?
MORE DETAILS: Regarding deleting meeting invitations, as a delegate from your own in-box, that the exec has “tentatively accepted”, actually deletes the meeting from the exec’s calendar, because the meeting wasn’t “accepted”. Here is what happens:
When a delegate deletes a meeting request for a meeting to which the delegate's manager was invited, the following warning may be displayed:
Deleting this meeting request also removes the meeting from the calendar for <user name>. When deleting a meeting request that hasn't been accepted, the meeting is removed from the calendar.
This warning is shown in the following figure.
If the delegate clicks OK in the warning dialog box, the meeting is deleted from the specified user's calendar. If the delegate clicks Cancel, the meeting request is not deleted. Additionally, the meeting in the specified user's calendar is not deleted.
In this same scenario, if the delegate clicks OK in the warning dialog box, an entry is also logged in the Windows application event log of the delegate's client workstation. The event contains details similar to the following example:

Note This warning only appears when a delegate deletes a meeting invitation that the delegate received on behalf of a manager. If a manager deletes a meeting request from the manager's Inbox, the manager does not receive this warning.

If you select the Do not show this message again check box in the warning, the warning message is suppressed the next time that a delegate deletes a meeting request when the corresponding meeting is already marked as tentative on the manager's calendar. However, the meeting is still deleted from the manager's calendar. In this situation, the following registry data suppresses the warning:
Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Options\General
String: PONT_STRING
Value: 79,
Note The PONT_STRING value may not begin with "79," as there may be other values contained in this string. The PONT_STRING registry value stores multiple comma-separated values. Each indicates a dialog box that you have chosen not to display.
Thank you, in advance for any help you can provide.
