Address prefill, personal email address being linked to work email address

This is on Outlook 2016 MSI version connected to office 365 exchange.

When I type my personal email address xxxx12334@gmail.com it is then linked to my work email account with presence, the skype presence box is shown next to my personal email address. It doesn't change it to my display name however.

When I send the email it shows up in my work inbox. It's very annoying.

I've deleted the prefill email address in the dropdown, I've searched my address book and deleted any entries for my personal email address. I've looked for linked accounts in office 365 and there are none. I'm not sure where and how outlook is linking my personal email address with my work account. I've never associated my personal email with anything work related on any of my computers.

Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Does renaming shared calendar effect everybody?

Hi. I just started at a new company. They use Outlook for their conference room meeting reservations so everyone has access to the Shared Room Calendars. I've added them to my shared calendar area. I'd like to right-click and rename calendar to something that makes more sense to me. If I rename them is it just a local change for me or does it get altered for everyone?

Sorry if this is posted somewhere already but I couldn't find it anyways. I know I can do this with exchange however we are not running an exchange server.

For all intent and purposes, how would one configure an Outlook 2016/2013 Email Account with Powershell. The account would be IMAP account. Any insight would be helpful, Thank you!

Retreive Hotmail Mail in Outlook

Hi,

I am recently converted from Hotmail Live to Outlook by selecting option that I don't remember. There is only welcome mail in inbox..I want my previous live mails that I need back.Can anyone help me to retrieve or connect the outlook to live inbox so that I could get my Live emails back.I have tried allot to find an option or method to get the previous mails back but couldn't succeed.

Hello, outlook search I also see mail copies in the results "This item contains active content. Open the item to read its contents ".

How can this be disabled.

How can I split large PST files from Outlook 2007?

I am regular user of Outlook using since last four to five year. Now I am facing problems during loading and sending items. I was thinking to split large PST files to avoid corruption and to improve performance. Can anybody suggest me better way to do that ? Can I split and save PST data as PDF ?

Office Insider 1810 crashing when clicking File --> Account

For the last 2 Office Monthly Targeted updates Office has been crashing when clicking File --> Account

Build numbers: 11001.20060 and 11001.20038

Windows 10 1803. Happening for multiple users. Running the office app in safe mode doesn't fix it.

Affects all apps in Office. No error message in GUI. Error from event logs:

Unable to create meetings in shared calendar

Issue with one calendar (we are using Office 2016 with a O365 subscription).

The users with access to a shared mailbox reported that they is not able to create meeting requests from the shared mailbox calendar without the calendar "freezes" every time. When you add a room on the field of location it disapears.I have added myself to the shared mailbox and experience the same problem.I have tried to "unticked" the "download shared folder" option in Accout settings > advanced page. Still have the same problem.Anyone had a similar issue?

how to create contact in particular folder with VB.Net

We have an app that creates contacts in Outlook from QuickBooks.  I has been working for years.

The problem is that it only creates them in 1 folder.

There are several difference contract folders and we need to create the contacts in specific folders.

I have not seen a way of doing this.

We use

OlContact = OutLookApp.CreateItem(Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.OlItemType.olContactItem)
then OLContact.Save() 

SaveAs(pFolder) did not work.

Using  OlContact.Account = pFolder did nothing

pFolder is a string with the folder name i.e. 'Contacts - email@email.com'

What must I do to get the contact to be created in a particular folder (in pFolder)?

Outlook Updating Inbox issue.​

outlook keep saying updating inbox, no new emails come in. after restart outlook, the new emails will be shown in inbox. online mode is working fine. tried to rebuild profile and re-install the office, still keep showing updating. after waiting for a long time, it will shows as updated, but still no new email come in.

Exchange Online Outlook 2016 password loop

We're getting slammed with people having problems with Outlook password boxes continually popping up all of a sudden.  We're using Exchange online and using Windows 10 clients with the Office version 1808 to 1809.

These issues all have seemed to start once the Outlook login experience changed to the "Use this account everywhere" screen you get when logging into Outlook for the first time.

Troubleshooting steps taken:

Ran the Outlook diagnostic utility (Everything checked out fine)

Disabled MFA (Still got prompts)

Changed password

New Outlook profile

Downgraded Office version

Logged out of Office apps cleared credential manager, disconnected the Office 365 account from Windows 10 and deleted the "identity" registry key

Added the registry key to disable the web accounts manager

Contacted Microsoft Support (no luck either, their response was to reimage the workstation)

The things that have seemed to work was to either reset the Windows 10 installation or to create a new login on the computer.  This indicates that it's profile/computer related and not account/tenant, so either registry or profile specific files installed with Office 365 is the culprit.

I've got 10 incidents with this same behavior going on right now.

Shared calendar notifications

Hi,

One of my colleagues shared his calendar with me and since then I am getting all unnecessary meeting and event notification in my Outlook inbox which is really annoying. for example, if he invites others for an event/meeting; I get all the notifications in my inbox (if the recipients accept/decline the meeting). 

He is a senior guy thus its bit awkward for me delete his calendar from my account. Is there any way to STOP those notifications from shared account? I tried email filtering/rules options but they didn't work in this case.

Mac Outlook OLM file to Windows Outlook PST format

I am moving from Mac to Windows operating system, but I have a problem with my emails which are on Mac Outlook 2011 and it showing that .olm file as a backup of my all data of Outlook. I searched for the ways to transfer my Mac Outlook OLM file into Windows Outlook format and I am afraid to lose my data. I found there a toolhttp://www.freeviewer.org/olm/pst.html , it is saying that it can convert everything from my Mac Outlook to Windows Outlook.

I just want to be sure that should I go for this tool or any other ways to transfer my file?

I have left my previous employer and have exported my olm file, with all my contacts and emails. I now have this olm file sitting on my Windows machine and need to convert it to PST for use in outlook and to be able to import my contacts onto my iphone.

Is there any free software available.

OLM to PST to O365 Online archive

Hello All,

I am looking for a recommendations what software to use to convert Data from folder on my computer from Outlook 2011 ".olm" to PST format in order to migrate in to the Online Archive in O365 using the Migration tool from the O365 web portal. Hopefully some one out there have been is this particular situation before.

Ever better will be is this software can convert multiple olm file to PST at the same time, not one at the time.

So the plan is to export this data from Outlook 2011 identity as .olm move it to a file server and convert it to PST in order to migrate it to the Online Archive.
