I have a user who wants to disable his reading pane but I created this registry key on his local pc which is on a domain and its not removing the reading pane from view tab
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\office\16.0\Outlook\options
DWORD: disablereadingpane
Value: 1
Am I missing an entry?
Hello!
When I try to SAVE ALL ATTACHMENTS from a mail, Outlook is now saving only files that do not exist in the selected folder. If a file with the same name exits in the selected folder, Outlook down not prompt for Overwrite, but just does not save.
If I now select a specific file, and select the same folder as above, and click OK, it then prompts for overwrite.
This is happening since yesterday: 23 Mar 2017.
Before that, the prompt was appearing. In fact, I use that prompt to ensure the correct folder has been selected (If there was no prompt, the folder was wrongly selected)
Can someone if I have inadvertently changed any setting?

last week all of my Outlook clients started requiring a logon to google for outlook to work . It logs you in to accounts but it never has asked for that type of login before. I want it to stop. I have been told that at least in 2019 got to the account setting and more options and then the security tab an unselect the always prompt for logon credentials but the security tab is not there so what do I do.
email provider is gmail
google as verified all settings
but yet it keeps asking for me to log into google for outlook email to work instead of just saving password.
Never had to verify every day with google. HELP
Hi there,
Our team is having problems with getting a response after sending calendar invites. I would need to disable the Do not response option in Outlook 2016.
I followed the recommendation in the article below but it didn't work. Please help!
Thank you,
Manfred
PS
Couldn't copy the link to: Outlook 2016 - disable the Do Not Send a Response option in Outlook 2016 or hide it in Outlook
The email server I connect to for email was recently moved, and now that I try to connect using outlook it is not working. However, I can connect directly to web mail on a browser and I can connect using my phone with no issues. No one else who connects to this email server with outlook is having the issue I am. This is occurring on both of my computers and they are running Windows 7 (64-bit) with Outlook 2016 (32-bit).
I have tested using both IMAP and POP settings using SSL/TLS (ports 993 and 465) and both of them give me the same error message:
“Log onto incoming mail server (IMAP): A secure connection to the server cannot be established.”
“Send test email message: Your server does not support the connection encryption type you have specified. Try changing the encryption method. Contact your mail server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP) for additional assistance.”
I have called my ISP to make sure they are not blocking those ports.
I also tested using IMAP without SSL/TLS using port 143 and outgoing port 587. This allows me to connect and see emails, however when I try to send emails I get the following error: 503 Valid RCPT command must precede DATA. However, even if this connection issue is resolved, I would prefer to connect using SSL/TLS.
Please let me know any other information that is needed to troubleshoot this issue. Thanks!
Active Directory domain with Windows 10 1809 clients and there's plenty of group policies managing the domain for business purposes. One a few sales computers there are Hotmail accounts that were connected to Outlook 2019 and working great for months, then suddenly last week Microsoft changed something in either Windows 10 or Outlook 2019 that's blocking them from accessing the account and/or forcing a Microsoft Windows account.
"Can't sign in with a Microsoft account
This program is blocked by group policy. For more information, contact your system administrator.
0x800704ec"
No group policies have been implemented in the domain in months, the issue here was undoubtedly caused by a Microsoft Update - does anyone have a workaround or know the update that caused this so we can back it out on these systems?
Hello,
We having an issue with one customer in our environment.
The issue is Outlook 2016 Pro(Retail version) freezes and not responding
Users reading mails, sending mails and etc nothing special.
The problem is random and nothing happening 100% of the time but really annoying and is hard to work with Outlook.
Any other software includes other office programs working fine.
The mail service provider is Office365(Exchange online plan)
before the users had office 2013 with roaming profile without any problem.
a quick information about the customer environment.
The servers are inside our VMWare Infrastructure.
Server information:
Server 1: Windows Server 2016 Datacenter with the following roles Domain controller,Print Server,File Server,RDS
Server 2&3: Windows Server 2016 Datacenter with RDS Session host(Terminal servers)
We applied GPO for folder redirect and roaming profile.
Roaming Profile : \\Servername\RoamingProfile$\%username%
Folder redirect : \\Servername\FolderRedirection$\%username%\*
* = Desktop,Documents and anything you can redirect inside user profile folder.
with Outlook profiles we set all OST\PST Created in the profile will locate at
\\Servername\FolderRedirection$\%USERNAME%\Documents\Outlook
Full cache mode.(The OST files are from 2GB to 50GB depends on the user mailbox)
The following troubleshoot and fixes we tried to do without any success.
1.Repairing Office.
2.Checking Windows file system(Must mentiod the server are less than 1month old - New installations)
3.Moving user OST from network share to local folder
4.Windows and office updates.
5.Outlook with switches(Safe mode,nopreview and more)
6.Disabling hardware graphics acceleration
7.Using Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant for Office 365
We are monitoring disk I\O and lan traffic bandwidth and results are fine.
but the issue is still persist.
Would like to have any suggestions to fix this super annoying issue.
Best, Joe
I've seen discussions about Outlook 2016 search features that seem to no longer work (like searching and then group by folder or from or to) but I've seen very little about how to solve. How do you fix this annoying change?
Hi,
I have 3567+ .msg files of Outlook 2013 and want to export them in .pdf file format with attached data files. I tried manual tricks but could not success completely. Is there any another solution to export Outlook email as MSG format to PDF?
One of our office users is encountering the error, "we're sorry but outlook has run into an error that is preventing it from working Correctly" when trying to use Outlook. This is an Office 365 installed product.
I have tried everything I can think of including: the repair now button from the error message, launching outlook in safe mode, checking compatibility settings, full office online repair, creating a new profile; but nothing
seems to make a difference. This message pops up randomly throughout the day multiple times so its definitely annoying to the user.
Any help or ideas on how to resolve would be greatly appreciated.
I have a shared mailbox with users complaining that emails are being auto-categorized. My initial thoughts are someone has quick click set and is accidentally clicking that column to mark an email under a category.
The mailbox does not have any rules set up either and from what I know, audit logging will not capture someone categorizing an email.
Any ideas?
We're migrating the company to a new system.
We need to be able to have Outlook 2016 users access e-mail on Exchange 2013, then Exchange 2019 (which are separate).
The problem is that Outlook 2016 resides in one domain while the Exchange servers reside in another.
Outlook will not allow us to manually connect to any outside Exchange server stating it can't use EAS.
How do we get around this and what is the procedure for connecting Outlook 2016 (and 2019) clients to Exchange servers in a different domain??
Alert from Microsoft Forum
Outlook for Mac (16.16.10)
Issue: When I create a new email in Outlook, Outlook will not use my default email account. Its stuck on another account. When I reply to an email, Outlook does use the correct email account. The issue only occurs with a new email.
I've tried: I have gone into preferences and toggled the reply to all emails using default account (which does correctly use my default account). Then turned this off. Same issue - New emails go to wrong default account.
Question: Is there a preferences file on my MAC that I can remove or is there another solution rather than re-install Outlook??
