Creating Contact Group in a Shared Outlook Mailbox

I have been given permissions to my manager's Outlook (my manager).  I can add contacts to my manager's mailbox.  I can create contact groups (distribution lists) to my manager's mailbox.  My problem is when I'm creating a distribution group and click Add Members - from Outlook Contacts OR from Address Book I see my contacts, but not the contacts of my manager.

Can anyone tell me how I can view my manager's contact list?  Thank you.


Outlook is retaining incorrect paper size when printing.

We are having an issue with a few users and their default paper size in Outlook

History:

We use a print server to push out printers via GPO and for use through RDS environment

We found that one set of the printers had given users the default paper size of A4 instead of Letter

We corrected that issue with an updated driver, and now when users print from Word, Excel, Internet, etc they are getting the correct default paper size of Letter.

However, their outlook profiles are still retaining the A4 default paper size

*NOTE: users are running windows 7, and Outlook 2010 SP2

Troubleshooting:

We have tried many things to resolve

1. Connecting to the printer properties and ensuring paper size was correct

2. Changing the paper size when printing an email or attachment, however the setting is not retained

3. Removing the printers, logging off and on and having them re-push down

4. Deleting the Outlook profile and recreating

5. Changing the Region location settings to United States

6. Rebuilding the User profile (This worked).

While the rebuilding of the User profile worked, I would rather find a solution that does not require the interruption of users work by having to rebuild a hole bunch of user profiles and copying over favorites, documents, nk2 files, etc.

Please let me know.

Instantly delete arriving Email Message from notification, Windows 10

Hello, with Win7 and Outlook 2013 or 2016 (Outlook Version does not matter), I was able to instantly delete an incomming message right from the lower right corner notification area, as it arrived. I used this a low with all messages I am not interested in. Now, after Upgrade to Win10, I have this fancy Notification Area, which is nice indeed, but I only see, and can open, an email message, but I do not see any way how to delete it anymore right away.

I am not interested into advices how to enable or disable notification, I want to have these notificatoins, but I would be happy if I still could delete messages on arrival with one single click.

Or may I need to disable Windows notification for Outlook, but keep some Outlook notifiacation on?

to the point, i did CTRL + 6 (Folder List Show) in outlook 2010 and all folder have shown but i cant hide that anymore. any advices for hide that ?

Can Outlook 2016 be minimized when I hit the 'close button'?

Applications like Skype have a feature where they stay minimized on the task bar when they are closed, and I accidentally close office a lot of times, because of the fact that the close button closes the application, and has the be restarted again. I'm not a huge tech genius, and have tried downloading a .dll file called KeepOutlookRunning.dll from the internet, which was a add-in in Office 2016 (or other office versions). When trying to put up the add in, I got an error message, which stated "<path> is not a valid Office add-in". I have tried installing it by opening the options windows, and then going to the add-ins tab, selecting manage: COM Add-ins, and trying to add it by clicking the add button. I did do this in administrator mode by the way. Is there any solution to the problem? I would also appreciate any other ways to get the window minimized when the close button is clicked.

Cannot start microsoft outlook. Cannot open the outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. The information store could not be opened.

I get this error on all 3 Terminal servers when opening outlook 2013 on random users at random times:

The fix is to click ok and then re-open outlook 3-4 times. Then this error goes away and outlook starts normally.

I cannot reproduse this problem. It mostly happends first time a user logs on in the morning. The PST file is locally on the Terminal Server but the archive files are on a file share that is mapped.

What has been tested:

1.I have reinstalled office on all Terminal Servers

2. outlook.exe /resetnavpane

I welcome every answer and will test whatever is needed.

Spellcheck not working in replies Outlook 2010

If I hit reply to an email in 2010 then try to correct my spelling mistakes. They are highlighted by the usualy wavy underlining but when I right click on them my signatures come up not the spelling correction . Have had this problem for many many years and never found the answer. One answer about putting -- in my signature didn't work.

Hello All,

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!

I can't seem to get a gmail account setup in outlook email acct. setup 

I am setting up outlook as follows:

1. Fist the exchange mailbox automatically configures then I attempt to configure another email account IMAP.


2. After clicking “NEXT” the Google authentication screen pops up.


3. After entering the email address and clicking “NEXT” the password screen comes up.


After entering the password I get the MS apps & services screen but the “ALLOW” but is greyed out.

This occurred with 4 different Gmail accounts on 4 different win 10  pc’s all new setups.


This is where I am stuck.

Any ideas as to why this is occurring? Google has passed the buck and told me it must be a MS issue.

VoiceMail emails blocked from Microsoft Forms

Hello everyone,

We have C2R 2019 Pro Plus and applied new policies for blocking macros, vba etc in order to improve our security. Everything went ok except the famous problem with Microsoft Forms blocking the access to the e-mails containing voice messages. 

I've looked a couple of articles including this one: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/f1169614-0030-494f-bbcf-a04491087952/user-unable-to-open-voicemail-in-outlook?forum=ocsclients 

but changing the registry didn't solved the problem. 

I've read as well some articles about programmatic access settings and OLE object access but I couldn't see any option about Microsoft Forms.

Does someone knows which group policy is responsible for this setting? We would like to keep the security tight and only for some users allow the access to such messages.

Or should I move the question to Group Policy section?

Outlook “We are unable to connect right now. Please check your network and try again later.”

Hello,

We are experiencing a very nasty error when connecting from Outlook Client to O365 Exchange servers via a VPN connection over Juniper Pulse. The error message is“We are unable to connect right now. Please check your network and try again later.”

The issue can be solved by manually restarting the NlaSvc service on the client. This however is only a workaround countermeasure. We are currently trying to find out the root cause.

Is someone familiar with this error and what could be the cause ?

New Email Received Notification Pops Up But Email Not in Inbox

I get a notification that I have received a new email. I can read the email by clicking on the notification, but that email doesn't always appear in my inbox.

I am using Outlook 2010 as my email client.  I have an MS Exchange account hosted on my SBS 2011 Standard server using MS Exchange 2010.

Where are these emails going?  Is it possible to retrieve them?  Are they stored on my email server?  If so, where?

Outlook 2007 keeps asking for username and password gmail

Once in a while the Outllok 2007 and Outlook Express keep asking the username and password for gmail and stop synchronizing. Then it goes away only to come bak some weeks later. Very annoying..... Sometimes it only takes a few days to start all over again! I see that many people have a problem with this. It never happens with Hotmail, only gmail, very strange! And gmail doesn't really have anyone to help. Is it a gmail problem or an Outlook problem? When I set up the account in the Outlook I set it up to remember the password, so that is not the problem, I have also tried to repair the account on the Outlook but it says that "an encrypted connection for your mail server is not available" then I try the non encrypted one and it says the same thing . It is so very annoying when things stop working properly...... The only thing that seems to work is to go to gmail, where you can suggest a new feature, tell them that this is happening and coincidence or not this stops only to start again some other time. I don't want to give up this e-mail address because a lot of people have it! I didn't update or change anything! Francisca

I have saved larger template with no problems. Also tried making the template much smaller, still getting this error.

2016 Calendar Scrolling

Okay - I have to say that I've been a Microsoft user for over 18 years, and the more and more I'm ready to bail.  Currently I've had many issues with Office 2016 - well mainly Outlook.  I use Outlook constantly throughout the day I have multiple windows open with Calendar, Inbox (email) and Contacts.  As an IT consultant I track all of my time through Outlook Calendar.  What I've found with the new version is that (among other issues with indexing, timeline in the calendar, etc...) the scrolling in the calendar doesn't work right on my surface pro 3...

If I use 2 fingers to scroll in Outlook Calendar, the scroll bar moves on the side, but nothing happens...  Nothing.  Sometimes it'll scroll a little bit, but mostly it won't do anything....

I'm just so fed up with bad MS products now.  This is just icing on the cake.  My surface pro has many issues, Office 2016 is wrought with issues...  just so much pain for such a stupid upgrade...  I'm sorry I moved past Windows 7 and Office 2010...

How do I enlarge the Outlook window for "New Mail Alerts" ?

I create rules to automatically file incoming email and set an alert to notify me.  Some days I get up to 30 email alerts.  the "New Mail Alerts" window that pops up is so small, that I cannot easily see all teh emails contained therein.  How do I enlarge this window to a size making it useful?

Outlook templates with attachments failing to open .oft file error "The attempted operation failed. An object could not be found."

I have been using template emails to easily pull up a draft email, which we use to respond to website queries, for about 3 years. However, in the past few months I think the templates have been getting corrupted or failing somehow because all of a sudden they won't open.

This seems to only happen to templates with attachments, but I used them for years and I need the attachments.

The files are all less than 5,000 kb in the folder I saved them in (the one I really use is 3,916 kb). However, when I view it in the "choose form" it says it is 4,009,984 bytes (4,009) kb, so it is a negligible difference.

The email is a little lengthy and has 2 attachments totaling about 3 mb, but like I said this worked fine with no issues for 2 1/2 years.

If I go to the folder I have them saved and open them (while outlook is not yet open) they used to open outlook and the email and work fine. However, just recently they will only open the email and reminders (no inbox) and give the message "The attempted operation failed. An object could not be found."

I have tried changing the file->options->advanced->custom forms : maximum space on hard disk to 5048 kb, but that doesn't seem to help. I've also checked for outlook updates and restarted many times.

What can I do to be able to consistently use my templates again?! I use these templates many times a day. 

Outlook 365 2016 Trusted Platform Module error code 80090016

I have quite a few machines where after launching Outlook and trying to authenticate, they get a "something went wrong" error that Trusted Platform Module has malfunctioned, error code 80090016.  The server message is "Keyset does not exist Keyset does not exist".

If different users log in on the same computers, their Outlooks functions properly.  So I assume it's something just in those users' profiles, but I'd prefer not to delete the users' profiles if there is a fix that could be done to each instead.  Anyone know how to fix this without completely deleting the user profile off the machine?

When setting start date -for flagged emails- to today; it works for 10 seconds then it come back to the old start date (it seems there is a job or something that is doing this); please see the animation on my onedrive:
