I have a client whose workstation displays the following Outlook Offline Folders error every day at the same time:
Microsoft Office Outlook Offline Folders
The file (path to) Outlook.ost is in use and could not be accessed. Close any application that is using this file, then try again.
So far I have tried the following:-
1. Ensured that no scheduled tasks are set to run.
2. Reinstalled Outlook 2003.
3. Created a new outlook.ost file.
4. Updated Outlook and MS Office (2003) to the latest service pack along with all available updates.
5. Ensured that indexing is turned off.
6. Ensured that outlook.ost is excluded from AV software.
7. Changed the location of the Outlook.ost file.
8. Turned off cached mode.
I would appreciate any suggestions anyone might have on how to proceed with this.
The workstation is Windows XP Pro, running Office 2003, connected to an SBS 2003 server.
Thanks in advance.
I don't work for Microsoft - I just use their products.
