Old photo associated with account

$

I posted this on the normal microsoft forum and found no solution so I was told to come here. I

I noticed from a thread of emails sent between me and a company that an old image of me comes up as my profile picture.

I have checked on my account and there is no image linked. I have also looked on my pc's folder of account pictures and have nothing. I also don't have any contacts with that photo or under my address.

I also noticed today that when signing up to a new website, this photo comes up automatically.

I really need to delete this photo but can't trace it down.

Surely there's a solution to this?

Thanks

Outlook 2016 MSI Based install and KB4461506

Hello everyone,

On November 13,2018   Microsoft released KB4461506.  Apparently though it breaks my Outlook programs Manage Rules and Alerts feature presenting me with only the error "The Operation failed because of a registry or installation problem.  Restart Outlook and try again.  If the problem persists, reinstall."

After an initial reinstall I found the program works normally however I have discovered that installing KB4461506 will break it.  I have custom rules and one that runs a custom VB project that moves a file once received to another location on my network.  Since I am unable to prevent this update from installing what are the other options I can do to trouble shoot and resolve this matter?

Outlook Error Message: Cannot perform the required operation. The command selected is not valid for this recipient. there was an error while expanding the list. The list was not fully expanded

Hello

I have some distribution group list in Office 365, with let's say 200 recipients

Each time I want to expand the group (In Outlook, in a new email) I receive this error message "Cannot perform the required operation. The command selected is not valid for this recipient.  there was an error while expanding the list. The list was not fully expanded".

This happens on Outlook 2013, 2016 as well

I have tried :

1. Reset autocomplete cache

2. Delete offline address book

3. Recreated ost file

4. Recreated Outlook profile from zero

Nothing worked

Can you please further advise?

Outlook 2016 Multiple Email Signatures via GPO

Hi there,

I'm interested in deploying Email signatures via GPO

We have a Hybrid environment with Exchange 2010/Office365ProPlus

From what I can see, I create a VBS/WSH Script to extract ActiveDirectory Details and insert this into a User Group Policy Object. This will run on user logon and create the Outlook signatures for New and Reply Emails

How would this work for multiple email signatures?

Say I was sending from another mailbox that was attached to the users Outlook profile that only they had full access to.

Current think  would be that any script would have to check if the USer was a member of ADs groups

e.g.

Is User member of "EmailSignatureCompany1" Group then apply EmailSignature1 to OutlookProfile as "Default Signature"

Is User member of "EmailSignatureCompany2" group then Apply EmailSignature2 to Outlook Profile as "Alternative Signature"

Looking at Outlook 2016 Client, there doesnt appear to be a smart way to change signature if a user changes the "FROM" field to the shared mailbox to send from there. The user would have to change the signature themselves?

Best Regards

Rodney

Emails disappear from Inbox

Outlook 365 / 2016 is causing emails to disappear after replying to an email, but the email will show up if you search for it. The problem appears to be an issue with the Outlook client offline folder synchronization as online mode will show the email and OWA does not have this issue. We had Microsoft run a mailbox repair on the back end and we have moved the mailbox to a different Exchange server as well. This issue has been re-produced on 2 different HP laptops and a surface, but the issue is sporadic and does not happen on each machine at the same time. I have disabled all add-ins and the issue still persists. I am waiting on Office 365 support to look at the trace I took of the issue happening, but has anyone else experienced this issue recently. I checked for hidden rules using MFCMAPI and none are present and I also ran "outlook /cleanrules" as well.

I am ready to re-create the user mailbox, but I want to confirm the best way of doing this first. We are using Azure AD Connect to sync our on-prem AD with Azure AD.

Do the following steps sound like the correct process for achieving this goal?

1. Backup everything to a PST file

2. Remove the Office 365 license

3. Permanently delete the mailbox

4. Add the Office 365 license back to the user and confirm a new mailbox is created

5. Re-import everything from the PST file back into the new mailbox

Using Outlook 2016 MSI version. Email is in Office 365. User is MFA enforced.

The user has a number of emails that are in the outbox but we have verified that the emails were sent. How do we fix this?

We opened the inbox from multiple computers and the emails remain in the outbox which means it is on the server side and not in a cache.

Unable to Edit Outlook Contact Notes

I have several users that use Outlook 2013, we are setup on an Exchange 2010 server. These users prefer to use Address Cards. On some (Not all) they cannot edit the contents of the Notes field. They can highlight the text there, but make no changes. I am at a complete loss as to what can be causing this.

Accessing a shared mailbox without an email account

Dear all,

Regarding Shared mailboxes.

I know that a user who access a shared mailbox needs to have hiw own licence as the SMB does not have one.
In my company case, we use some generic windows account (non nominative AD account) and want to use Shared mailbox in Outlook of these generic windows account.

The generic account will need to have a licence, but does the generic account need to have is own email address ?
Is it possible for an AD account to have a O365 licence without any email address of its own ?

Thanks for your answer.

Recommended way to add a Shared Mailbox in Outlook desktop client

Dear,

What is the best way to add a shared mailbox in your Outlook client. I have read many things on the internet better never any justification why choose this solution over another one.
All these solutions are to be considered only after the user was granted Full Access over the Shared Mailbox.

1) Add the SMB as a new account

- Is it compliant with Modern Authentification ?
- Calendar notification for the SMB will properly show up
- It is possible to set the SMB address as default.
- Is there any potential issue doing this ?

2) Add the SMB with automapping feature
This is option needs to be set up on server side by admins.
After that, nothing to do on client side. Users will have the SMB automatically mapped whatever the computer they are using.

- With this configuration, Calendar notification for the SMB won't work
- Not possible to set the SMB address as defaut address to use when sending an email

3) Add the SMB in the advanced properties of the account

Doing so, the limitations seems to be the same as option ?

Would someone be kind to help me about this matter ?

How to convert an OST file to an PST file.

I have a lady I'm supporting who has two email accounts that the help desk screwed up.  She can only access the newest account, when all the history of email is on her original account.  I was thinking about converting her old .ost file to .pst then copy her email messages from the new account to the old, then delete the new account.

Does that make sense?

Thanks for your help.

Can't open shared mailbox

Hi Folks,

I have a user who can't open a shared mailbox.

They receive the error "Can't expand the folder. The set of folder cannot be opened. The file *****.ost is in use and cannot be accessed."

Now this user can open other shared email when I assign permissions. Everyone else who is assigned permissions to this shared mailbox can open it fine. It also opens fine in OWA for the problem user.

We initially removed the automapping to see if that fixed it. We also got them to log on to a fresh Windows 10 machine with a fresh profile etc and no change.

The shared mailbox and the user all have the same domain. We only have 1 domain.

We are running Office2016 connected to O365. We have an Exchange server on prem. The mailbox and the users were all created on prem and migrated to the cloud. This was done 6 months ago and has been all fine. Now this user is experiencing this problem, though I'm not sure for how long.

Thanks.

Outlook 2016/Exchange 2010 - keeps prompting for credentials

I have a user, running Outlook 2016, that suddenly is getting prompted for credentials.  This happens a minute or two after launching outlook, and then re-occurs every few minutes.  Outlook has been updated, there are no saved outlook credentials in credential manager, a new profile has been created and the prompts continue.  The strange part is that you don't need to authenticate, you can click cancel, and outlook continues to send and receive mail as normal, then several minutes later, the credential prompt pops up again, cancel and repeat.

Using search folders with shared mailbox not possible?

Our users have full access to a shared mailbox, which shows up in their Outlook desktop client. I can see two search folders I previously created.

But when I right click and try to create a new, it will ask which account, and only my personal account is possible to select.

I tried signing in to the shared mailbox account on outlook.office365.com - but the online Outlook doesn have search folders at all?

I'm on Win 8.1. I'm not using VPN or any proxy to connect to the internet. I got a yellow exclamation icon on my Internet Access sign on the right end of my taskbar for quite a while but I'm totally connected to the internet and never had any issue accessing to the web whatsoever. I bought MS Office 2016 online and I was trying to activate my account but Office doesn't detect my connectivity and throws the above error at me every time I try to sign in to my account. It sends me a similar error when I want to activate my account using my product key.

My WiFi Status says my media state is enabled but shows my IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity status Not Connected. I tried every suggestion I found online including the following but neither activating enable active probing or setting my computer's time and date hasn't helped.

I appreciate any help. Thanks.

Hi all,

I am IT Support and some users have the same issues in Outlook - Office 365.

The issues is:

  • All features in Search Tab of Outlook are greyed out.
  • Indexing Options in File/Options/Search of Outlook is greyed out too.
  • Indexing Status in Search Tool of Outlook is missing.

I already tried to:

  • Windows 10 Update.
  • Quick Repair and Online Repair Office 365.

but could not fixed issues.

Issued PCs running Windows 10 - 1803 - 64bit and MS Office 365 - 32bit ( but PCs running Windows 7 - 64bit get no problem )

Windows Search Services is still enable.

Have anyone get involved with this issue and find out the way to fix it ?

I cannot add images to get more detail.

Thank you guys.

Create Custom Form in Outlook 2016, for the Message setting 'Do not include original message'

I am trying to create a custom message form in Outlook for Office 365. I require that when the recipient replies to my email, the original message is not contained in the reply. This option is available under 'Actions' tab in standard message form.

I am able to successfully create and save/ publish the form using 'Design a Form' option in Developer tab in Outlook. However, when I use this form to send an e-mail, the reply that I receive still contains the original message that I sent.

In short, though I am able to create a form without any error, yet, it does not work as expected.

I also tried making required changes in the registry editor, to enable custom forms script, as explained in link: https://support.office.com/en-us/art...c-d7cce0120e94 . But I am still unable to get the form work correctly.

Thanks in advance!
