Outlook 2013 client not getting setup in Windows 10

Recently we have purchased new computers with Windows 10 operating system. We have a domain environment. An error is coming while setting up Outlook 2013 client in Windows 10. After creation of a new profile in mail; username and email address automatically comes up based on the domain username, however on clicking next following error message is displayed.

"The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected  to complete this action".

But if I install outlook 2007 client on Windows 10, then it is configured automatically. Further other machines running with Windows 7, Outlook 13 client works without any issue. We have Exchange server 2010.

Is there any particular change has to be done on Exchange Server or Windows 10?

Outlook 2013 crash after applying KB4461594

Hi all,

I've been trying to find a way to let Microsoft know there could be a bug in one of their patches.
It seems way to difficult to find a direction to mention it. So I will post it here.

In our enviroment (Windows 10, 1709 enterprise - Exchange 2010 - Office 2013) we noticed strange outlook 2013 crashes the last month.
It happened when users tried to open certain email messages.
After analyzing it seems that it where all RTF formed messages. Within it manual altered signatures. Tables, hyperlinks, embeded images etc.

I didn't find the exact thing which caused this. I've been altering the RTF code but without succes to point to the error.
That would be great to find a solution.
I've tested several patch levels of Outlook to see if that matters.
Well, it doesn't. So i've tried every Windows update we've gto from December 2018.
When uninstalling KB4461594 (security update for Word 2013 from 8 january 2019)the problem went away.
And the other way when installing KB4461594 the problem is there again.

Move emails outlook 2007 to apple mail

I have almost 10000 emails in different folders in outlook 2007 that I need to transfer to apple mail. 

I am a new mac user and am unaware of how this technical stuff works in mac system.

So I need a simple but effective way to transfer these emails along with their folders intact as they are in outlook 2007.

Your help will be appreciated.

Outlook creates Junk folder

Good day,

Since a few days i get the message in my mailbox:

One or more folders in your mailbox have name conflicts with others or system reserved names.

Folders with these names can't be downloaded by your IMAP e-mail program.

    Junk

Please connect to your mailbox using your Web browser and rename those folders. Once renamed, those folders will be displayed in your IMAP e-mail application correctly.

Deleting the folder olnly makes it come back within a few hours. I never had thsi issue before. No new phone or anything.

How do I get rid of this folder? Thanks in advance for your response!

Is there a way to edit the names the populate in the autocomplete list in Outlook 2016?  I know you can clear the list or delete individual entries but is there a way to edit the names?

SCANPST.EXE (from Office 2016 Pro Plus) is now systematically crashing

Hello all,

Following a few subsequent Outlook crashes, I decided to run SCANPST.EXE on my PST files.

I am observing that SCANPST.EXE is now systematically crashing on any of my PST files during the Repair phase with the following anonymous error:

Microsoft office component has stopped working

I first proceeded to a "Quick Repair" and then a full "Online Repair". No matter what, I am observing the same behavior.

Few months back, I successfully ran SCANPST.EXE.

I am current running the latest and greatest version of Office 2016 Pro Plus.

Is anybody would be aware of any updates that could have been responsible for such problem?

Weird characters in one specific sender for 1 of my users.

My user is getting strange arrow characters in the signature of one of our clients. Other users from this client do not have this issue for her. I have tried changing the Unicode, repairing office, and trying outlook.exe /cleanviews with no luck. I can't find much about an issue like this since its so specific besides changing Unicode. When she signs into the OWA the signature is completely fine, as well, when she forwards the emails (or I receive them from this client user myself) the signature is completely normal. I created her a new profile in Outlook and the issue persisted. The only thing I have not done yet is uninstall her current 2016 product and install the ProPlus 2019 version we're slowly moving to. I plan on doing this eventually but she's been very busy lately so Repairing and the other troubleshooting was really all I could do right now.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Trying to add an email signature to Outlook 2019

Brand new laptop, with Windows 10 Pro.

When selecting Signatures... - NOTHING HAPPENS!

Previously when this happened on Outlook 2016, i closed and re-opened Outlook - this would then allow me to add a signature

Outlook making extra icons in my taskbar

Hello,

I have two outlook profiles on purpose - I don't want all my mailboxes personal 3 and work 2 companies in the same profile.    In 2016 (and 2013) I'd create a shortcut to each profile and put it in my taskbar.   If I opened email calendars etc, it would add those as layers on the shortcut.  With 2019 it creates a new icon in the taskbar and adds layers to that.   Is there a way to make it behave like 2016 on the taskbar.

Outlook 2016 not showing time on the message for older messages

I have a problem that when I open email messages that are older than a couple of weeks, it does not display the time in the top of the email. I need the time and date to be shown in the email when I open it for ease of investigating past events. This information shows up in the folder view of all messages, but does not show up when I open the message, at least depending on the message age. 

It appears the standard behavior on a message is:

  • For current day show only the time (i.e. 9:42 pm)
  • For 2 days old show day of week and time (i.e. Thur 11:12 am)
  • For  >2 days - 8 days show day of week and m/d (i.e. Sun 2/7)
  • For anything older show only date m/d/yyyy (i.e. 1/3/2016)

Is there any way to change this so I can have the top of each message (regardless off age) showdddd mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm (i.e. Mon 2/11/2015 8:52 am) similar to how Outlook 2010 showed this information?

Outlook 2019 will not accept pop.su-------.net for incoming mail server.

I'm going from Outlook 2007 to Outlook 2019 on a new machine.   Incoming mail server setting is set to IMAP.sud-----.net which created a folder structure on my providers site.  Our previous version of outlook was set to POP.sudd-----.net

Imap setting created a mirrored folder structure that syncs up all the time, yet also causes file management issues in Outlook 2019.  how do i stop the folder snyc?

If i try to change IMAP to POP and the port setting i get a message that says something went wrong and outlook couldn't save the account changes.  

Is this my email providers problem and a setting they need to switch on their side? 

The overall problem is i can't change the account type from imap.  Why?

Searching "All Contact Items" in Outlook 2016

Hi all, 

I'm currently testing if this is limitation or an issue of Outlook 2016. 

We have user who has two shared contacts from other other users. 

User would like to use the 'all contact items' search to search through her own contacts and also the shared contacts. 

At this point all contacts search will only return the results from her own contact lists. 

I've read it elsewhere that in the mail search search will always be default to primary mailbox and you can only search other mailbox manually by clicking it. 

Any info would be great.

Unable to open a group mailbox in outlook 2016

Dear Friends,

Have configured a additional mailbox in outlook 2016. however, while opening it, getting error. Have reconfigured outlook and checked, same issue.

Already the same mailbox configured on this user's laptop, its opening fine. (This user uses laptop and desktop. issue only with his desktop)

Operating system on the desk : windows 7.

Kindly help me with solution. Please find error below while clicking on this group inbox in outlook.

Error:

"Cannot expand the folder. The set of folder cannot be opened. the file C:\User\xxx\AppData\local\Microsoft\outlook\xxx.com.ost is in use and cannot be accessed. Close any application that is using this file, and then try again. you might need to restart your computer."

View source in MS Outlook 2010 showing HTML content in different form

Facing issue in hosting meeting through Cisco Webex application through MS Outlook 2010. The View source of Meeting sent to participants are showing different HTML content. When viewed the HTML content in one of the freeware HtmlCodeEditor application, the difference as shown below. Need urgent support.
