Desperate: Willing to pay $100 for help getting Outlook 2016 to sync w/ @me.com account.

Basic Info:

  • Windows 7
  • Microsoft Outlook 2016
  • Apple email account

Despite numerous attempts, I cannot get Microsoft Outlook to sync with my @me.com account.  I have tried new passwords, imap settings, 2 factor authentication, etc.....  In fact, I presently have to 2 Data files which will not sync properly to the @me.com account.  I am frustrated beyond words and will gladly pay somebody to help me get setup properly.

Normally, I would expect the outlook account to mirror the apple account on the cloud including inbox/sent/deleted emails.  Yesterday, I was able to send an email from my account but none of the other "sent" emails were synced to apple.

If you need to reach me, my contact email is ta**o**ne @gmail.com (this is a spam account but I will check it for this purpose).

Normally, I wouldn't be so desperate but this is driving me absolutely bonkers and I just need resolution.

If you are a guru/expert on getting windows outlook 2016 to sync with my apple email account, please reach out to me.

Thanks in advance.

Anthony

Outlook 2016 - Multiple mailboxes, "Empty Deleted Items" not working

$

Hi,

I hope I'm asking this in the correct place.

I setup Outlook to have an "Empty Deleted Items" link in the Quick Access Toolbar.
Also, I have 3 mailboxes setup on same session.

For some reason the "Empty..." only works on 1 Mailbox, and not on the others.
I even select one of the folders on any of the other 2 mailboxes, and it does nothing - Deleted Items remain.

Is there a setting or something I need to do so the "Empty..." works on all?

Would appreciate your assistance...

Thanks,
Jacob

Outlook breaks hyperlinks sent from browsers

When I send a link from either Firefox or Chrome using my default mail client (Outlook), frequently the URL gets cut off and only part of it appears as a hyperlink. Like this:

When this happens, it occurs after punctuation - a slash, period or equal sign in the URL.

This has happened on multiple computers - in fact, I wrote about it here in 2014, but I don't recall what the solution was (or if it just resolved itself on its own). It is now occurring on Outlook 2016, but in the past it happened in Outlook 2013.

I have tried adjusting the "Automatically wrap text at character" value, but that didn't help.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

David

Outlook Attachments blocked by GPO

Hello,

I would like to block other file attachments for Outlook via GPO.

I've created a GPO where I've added these file extensions to Layer1.

As a test I try it with only one file extension (MHT) and I have also chosen the

setting Security Form Setting for Security Mode GPO-use. GPresult shows me that

the settings arrive. Standard blockages like COM, BAT and EXE work too.

But, for example, MHT files are not blocked by Outlook. What am I doing wrong? greetz Sabine

Weird characters in one specific sender for 1 of my users.

My user is getting strange arrow characters in the signature of one of our clients. Other users from this client do not have this issue for her. I have tried changing the Unicode, repairing office, and trying outlook.exe /cleanviews with no luck. I can't find much about an issue like this since its so specific besides changing Unicode. When she signs into the OWA the signature is completely fine, as well, when she forwards the emails (or I receive them from this client user myself) the signature is completely normal. I created her a new profile in Outlook and the issue persisted. The only thing I have not done yet is uninstall her current 2016 product and install the ProPlus 2019 version we're slowly moving to. I plan on doing this eventually but she's been very busy lately so Repairing and the other troubleshooting was really all I could do right now.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I appreciate the help.

Apparently I can't post the screenshot she sent me..................... so I uploaded it as my avatar. I guess I will try posting the image later.

Users from Outlook 2013 launching in Outlook 2019 get "Cannot start... cannot open... must connect to microsoft exchange with the current profile before you can synchronize with your outlook data file (.ost)"

(Using Exchange Server 2010)

We have a few users who have been using Windows 8 machines with Office 2013 and we're setting up Windows 10 devices with Office 2019 on them, but when launching Outlook 2019, it recognizes their exchange account based on the domain account of the user that is currently logged on to the PC and creates a .ost file in their appdata\local\microsoft\outlook\ directory but then gives the error above. It seems to be only the few users who have been using office/outlook 2013 up until now because the majority of our users were on office 2016/2010 and Outlook 2019 launches their mail profile just fine.

I can successfully access the users mailbox via OWA on the new windows 10 machine. Here are some other things i've tried based on the hours of searching i've been doing.....:

- Create a new mail profile in control panel -> mail

- Un-check "Use cached exchange mode" in mail profile settings

- Un-check "Encrypt data between microsoft outlook and microsoft exchange"

- Rename the .ost file in the appdata folder so that it generates a new one

How to repair pst file in Outlook 2013

I have Windows 8 and Office 2013 with Outlook. Since upgrading I seem to be having a few problems syncing my calendars (some dates will sync and others will not. I sync to a Google calendar so it keeps my phone updated)  as well as sometimes my mail will not appear (it says "no items to show") unless I close and open Outlook.

There used to be a "repair" command in Outlook, and searching for repair online it gives me several options of 3rd party add on programs. Microsoft says there is a "scanpst.exe file, but I can't find that in 2013. So how do I check and repair my pst file? It has been converted through a few Outlook updates and it is about 4 gig. I read that in older versions you should not go over 2 gig, but I have years of information so I can't see starting a new pst file and loosing everything. Suggestions??

Exchange Online Outlook 2016 password loop

We're getting slammed with people having problems with Outlook password boxes continually popping up all of a sudden.  We're using Exchange online and using Windows 10 clients with the Office version 1808 to 1809.

These issues all have seemed to start once the Outlook login experience changed to the "Use this account everywhere" screen you get when logging into Outlook for the first time.

Troubleshooting steps taken:

Ran the Outlook diagnostic utility (Everything checked out fine)

Disabled MFA (Still got prompts)

Changed password

New Outlook profile

Downgraded Office version

Logged out of Office apps cleared credential manager, disconnected the Office 365 account from Windows 10 and deleted the "identity" registry key

Added the registry key to disable the web accounts manager

Contacted Microsoft Support (no luck either, their response was to reimage the workstation)

The things that have seemed to work was to either reset the Windows 10 installation or to create a new login on the computer.  This indicates that it's profile/computer related and not account/tenant, so either registry or profile specific files installed with Office 365 is the culprit.

I've got 10 incidents with this same behavior going on right now.

All users of the PCs can use and see all Groups in Outlook and all but one Mac user can see their Groups in Outlook. I have troubleshot everything in his online and Outlook profiles but nothing has worked to resolve the issue. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Re-Occuring Meeting Acceptace Notifcation

We created a new meeting room and for some reason when you create a weekly meeting, you get an acceptance notification daily. I tried looking around to see if it was set up different than our other rooms but it's not. All settings are the same. I must be overlooking something so I thought I'd reach out. Has anyone else run into this issue before? Any suggestions on where to start looking beyond comparing to other conference rooms we have set up?

Convert a shared .pst file via online archives

So, the customer I am working with has been sharing a .pst file on a network drive which, the company is now eliminating and migrating to OneDrive.

My question is, what is the best solution to convert this shared .pst file online would it be best to create a shared mailbox, group, or....?

Currently the solution presented would be creating a shared mailbox to which each user could simply drag the files they wish to share to the appropriate folder within the share however, the mailbox does not necessarily have to send and/or receive email at this time....

I am left with the impression if one user was to simply drag these files into one persons online archives folder(s) the files would only be available if the "owner' is logged into their account is this correct?
