How to designate Internet Calendar as read only

$

In Outlook 2010 I have subscribed to an Internet Calendar that is read only on the server end. It is not designated as read only in the Outlook client. A user can add an event to this calendar in Outlook, and it persists in the Outlook view of that calendar, but it does not update the calendar on the server end and generates an error in Outlook.

Is there a way to mark this calendar as read only in Outlook so Outlook does not permit attempts to add events? On the properties dialog of this calendar there is no 'Permissions' tab.

Your Question:

I have several legacy Outlook PST Data file that has reached their maximum size. I cannot manipulate them any more (delete entries, reminders, etc.). Outlook error message says "permanently delete some items that you no longer need. You could also use consider using the new Outlook data file (.pst) included with Outlook 2003 that provides greater capacity for storing items and folders." Mind you, I am using Outlook 2013.

Hi Team,

Using latest Outlook App for Windows in my system.

Please find the scenario.

Customer A sending mail to our support id and it has  Message-ID ,Conversation ID and  reference as Null

e.g. Message-ID {<BYAPR11MB338455B7E1ED6771720B0E98F5FA0@BYAPR11MB3384.namprd11.prod.outlook.com>}

Again Customer A sending reply mail from above mail then , it has new Message-ID , same Conversation ID and Reference has above Message-ID

Again customer reply from the above replied mail with modified subject then, it has new Message-ID but reference id Null and conversation id is entirely  different from previous one.

But , Above same scenario issue not reproducing while using online outlook mail site , only this issue in Outlook Desktop App.

Can you please fix this issue?

Thanks,

Shared Mailbox iCal Invitation Issue - Unable To Save In Calendar

When accepting a calendar invitation (iCal) in a shared mailbox it fails to populate this in the calendar of the shared mailbox, there is no error or message at all which appears in Outlook

I need to accept it through Webmail in order to have this populate in the calendar, this appears no problem in Outlook and in OWA.

I have tested this on a newly created mailbox and it persists, it is as though the system is unable to determine it needs to push it to the calendar of the mailbox it was opened up from/sent to.

Is there a work around for htis or something that could be incorporated in a future fix to ensure that calendar invitations populate to the calendar of the account it was sent to/opened up from.

Recurring meetings with conflicts - best practices on how to book them

$

Hi,

We have a set up in our office where people can book a meeting in a room by inviting that room as a participant. If the room is available, the user will receive an email saying the meeting was accepted. If it is not available, the user will receive an email saying the booking was declined.

With recurring meetings, the meeting series will be declined as a whole if on one of the dates, the room is not available. The user will receive an email with an overview of the dates on which there were conflicts.

Currently we advise users to then cancel the initial recurring meeting, and book separate (series of) meetings, based on the conflicts. However this can be a tedious exercise if there were for example 5 conflicts in a series of 15 meetings. You then need to book 6 or potentially many more separate (series of) meetings.

Is there a better way to go about this? We do not want our meeting rooms to accept double meetings.

Is it possible for example to detach a meeting from the series it was a part of? Or are there any suggested configuration changes that could be helpful here?

Thanks in advance.

Outlook People Peek Only Showing Some Users IM Availability

When I use the People Peek feature in Outlook it is only showing some people's IM availability. I can hover over the other users without an availability status with my mouse and then they'll refresh. I've got a user that uses this all the time and the mouse hovering is driving her crazy.

Here is what it looks like before I hover with the mouse.

If I hover over the names that do not have an IM status with my mouse it will then update it.

I can't figure out why some of them show up initially but others do not. This is happening in Outlook 2013, Outlook 2016 Click-to-run.

Thanks!

Outlook glitches when displaying email signatures after Windows 10 upgrade

I've recently upgraded a couple of PCs in our company to Windows 10 from Windows 7. These both had Outlook 2013 installed.

After upgrading (and installing the latest graphics drivers) the email signatures that show when composing a new email or replying have glitched. Instead of showing the correct images in the signature, it just shows a random snip of the screen (the image below explains it much better).

https://i.stack.imgur.com/87glG.png

I've tried uninstalling and re-installing Outlook with 2013 and 2016 with the same result. I've also re-installed graphics drivers, and remove and re-added the user's outlook profile. This only occurs when writing an email, and only when the signature is applied. If sent, the emails display fine to the recipient.

I also tried disabling hardware-accelerated graphics, but this caused outlook to display completely wrong, just showing white for most of the window. I had to edit the setting in the registry to get it to change back as I couldn't open the options menu after that.

Our email signatures are deployed with a tool called Exclaimer Signature Manager Outlook Edition, which has worked fine with windows 7 in the past and is working fine with at least one other PC that was upgraded to Windows 10 in the same way.

Had anyone seen this before or know anything else I can try?

Outlook rules not running correctly... period.

So Iv'e noticed this in any version of Outlook so I am quite supersized there aren't any resources on it. So the issue is that when you create a rule and try to have it send emails to Deleted Items, by sender, domain, or subject, it only runs on a few emails... like maybe a few weeks ahead. Then I have to create anotherIDENTICAL rule appended "(+n)" to delete another few weeks worth. Doesn't matter how I create them. I'm using an IMAP connection and my email provider is 1and1... but I don't think that's relevant. Even if I open the Rules Window and re-run the rules it doesn't delete any more... any one know how to fix this?

Outlook Inbox view suddenly changed and can't reset to how it was

$

My Outlook Inbox view suddenly changed the last time I opened Outlook (using Office 365 ProPlus, version 16.0.6001.1034).

I tried resetting the view, but that changed it to something other than what it used to be.

The view in my Sent folder is what I'd like the Inbox to be. I tried saving that view as a new view, then applying it to the Inbox, which got me close to what I wanted. however, all emails were displaying in order of who they were sent to, rather than who they were from.

Here's what it looks like now. I've outlined in red things that have changed. My "sort by" dropdown has disappeared (top-left blank area, as has the "Newest/Oldest" text and sorting arrow. Anew line of icons has appeared beneath the Search field, and the font size of the sender and subject of the message have changed--they used to be on 2 lines, now they're on one line and the font size is smaller.

And here's what my Inbox USED to look like, which is how I'd like to get it back to (this is now how my Sent folder appears):

As noted, I tried creating a view of the Sent folder, then apply it to my Inbox folder, but that caused all emails to display by "Sent To" as the default view rather than Sent From, and I couldn't get that to change and stick each time I'd close and relaunch Outlook.

I'm baffled. I've tried restarting Outlook, running Quick Repair on Office 365, rebooting the computer, launching Outlook in Safe mode, messing with the View...nothing has allowed me to reset my Inbox to how I'd like it to be.

Any ideas for anything else I can try? Thanks.

How to show email address not just name in From and To fields

$

Hi

I've recently updated from Outlook 2003 to 2010 and now I can't see email addresses in the reading pane and print outs anymore, just the name of sender and recipient.

Basically the reading pane shows this:

From: Dennis Gundersen
Sent: 19. mai 2011 21:27
To: Dennis Gundersen
Subject: Test

but I need it to show this:

From: Dennis Gundersen (dennis@myemail.com)
Sent: 19. mai 2011 21:27
To: Dennis Gundersen (dennis@myemail.com)
Subject: Test

How do I change this?

TIA

Dennis

How do I get Outlook 2016 to show ACTUAL email address I am sending to in "To:" fields?

$

Hello

How do I get MS Outlook to show the ACTUAL email address, rather than the user's name, in the To: address field?

Background
I find it deeply, DEEPLY irritating that Outlook does not show the actual email address of the addressee.  Nor does Outlook use the "Display As" field. I have to ask you: What is the point of the "Display As" field if it is not being used for how the addresses <g class="gr_ gr_908 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar multiReplace" data-gr-id="908" id="908">is</g> being displayed??

I am using Outlook 2016 "MSO v16.0.9266 32-Bit".

Thanks

A

Outlook 2010 apostrophe changes to question mark

$

We have just installed Office 2010 on 65 new Win7 computers and several users are seeing the apostophe being replaced with a question mark. The question mark also appears at the end of a sentence when the user puts in 2 spaces. We also see the question mark when they enter two 'returns' to add additional line spacing. This was first noticed in Outlook 2010 email messages. We do not use cached mode for Outlook and are using Exchange 2007.

Outlook 2010 when making a new contact the information in the email field dissapears when i switch to another field.

I am using outlook 2010. When I go to add a new contact and I am entering the information to make the new contact every time I enter their email and the switch to another field the email simply deletes itself from that field. This only happens with random emails. Some emails wont disappear and others will it seems totally random.

Trying To Repair Damaged Profile

Windows 10 Pro x64
Outlook 2019

The profile got damage and I am unable to manage rules.

I created a new profile and when I use it I can manage rules.  Now I need to copy all of the accounts from the old profile (called Outlook) to the new profile called (Outlook3).

I exported everything in the register from:
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Profiles\Outlook\9375CFF0413111d3B88A00104B2A6676

I edit the file and changed Profiles\Outlook to Profiles\Outlook3.  I then merged the file into the registry.

All of the accounts showed up.  Unfortunately, I cannot manage rules using that profile.

Where under that key is the information about the rules keep?  If I can find that I can create another profile (which will allow me to manage rules).  Then copy the rules information from the new profile to the old Outlook profile and thus repair it.

I have been getting spam from UserName@Website where the website changes but the UserName is the same.  Is there a way to block email based on UserName?  Is it safe to put "UserName@" or "UserName@*" in the Blocked Senders list?  Will that work?
