Messages moved when 'Mark Complete' flag set.

Good Afternoon,

I have a user who advises that, intermittently, when she double clicks an Outlook message to open it, the message disappears from her Inbox and is moved to an Inbox subfolder called 'Accounts'.

She advises that what these messages have in common is the flag is set as a green tick meaning 'Mark Complete'.

The user advises she does not set the flag to 'Mark Complete', it is already set when the message arrives in her Inbox.

The user does not have any rules configured.

The user does not have access to any shared mailboxes.

The Outlook version is 2013.

Can someone advise why these messages are moved from 'Inbox' to 'Accounts' when opened?

Any help appreciated.

Cannot put signature in my Outlook 2010 for Windows 10 (classic shell)

Can you tell me how to add a signature for my outlook 2010.  I have a new Windows 10 computer but put the classic shell on it and when I go to add a signature in options, it freezes and won't let me add the signature.

I recently migrated an clients office ti Googles GSuite app sync so they could share their work calendar. They all are used to having displayed on the right hand side as the "Dock the Peek" view, only displays the default calendar. is there a way to change the default calendar or sync their shared calendar to the default calendar so that it displays as the "Dock to Peek" or in the To do task pane on the right hand side?

I've two fresh install office 2016 pro plus on two different device , and both have same imap account

If in Outllok A , i read mail , in Outlook B don't result read and viceversa

Is there someone who can help me ?

Why do you have to order a program to fix outlook? Microsoft does not support their own product?  I don't get it.

I have noticed I cannot access my Archives sometimes?

the files disappear underneath Archives, also my 2nd email is not visible either?  Usually If I restart Outlook it comes back and is visible and accessible this time however it is not visible.  My work email is usable and visible though.

When I try and open my email it says  "  The set of folders cannot be opened. C:\users\myname\Documents\Outlook Files\email.pst cannot be opened

same for when I try and open Archives.

not deleted mails appear in "recover items recently removed from this folder" link

Hello,

I don't delete any mail but somehow some mails appear in "recover items recently removed from this folder" even if they are in inbox and have been responded. Some mail don't receive even if i get the mails from same sender.

All these happens on company computer and our IT team restored many times my account.

Spell check intermittently not working

HI,

I haver a customer with an issue with outlook spellchecker. Basically sometimes it does not work. Even when there is a miss spelt word in it and you spell check it says complete no errors. This doesn't happen with all the emails and you can reply to the same message that had the issue and the next time its fine.

I have done the following

1. Created a new profile

2. Removed office and reinstalled

3. Added English US to the languages (main language is English UK)

4. Remove all traces of the outlook folder so it rebuilds.

Its office 365 business (2016).

Spell checker works fine in other office apps.

Any suggestions welcome.

How to quick see a persons calendar when reading a mail.

Running Outlook 2016 client.

Trying to optimize my daily operation :o)

Issue: 

When reading af mail from a person and the mail is open - what is the quickest shortcut to open his calendar to see available meeting time.

Right now i'm tabbing over to Outlook, click on the calendar icon and hit open another calendar to find him - long processing time to find a meeting spot.

Is there a more smooth and quick way to do this operation?

Office365 Message Encryption - Encrypt button in Outlook?

I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this question, but my organization is implementing OME to encrypt emails and we were previously using a third party encryption service that had an add-in for Outlook that placed a "Send Securely" button in the new email window. They are looking for the same type of button to use with OME because they want users to have that familiar button that they've gotten used to using. 

Based on my research, I am thinking that this either doesn't exist or isn't necessary due to mail flow rules encrypting all emails automatically but I don't know if there's something I'm missing. 

We deploy a volume-licensed version of Office 2016 rather than the one that would be installed form O365 and I think that's the key difference here. We have the Encrypt button in place in Outlook on the web, but not desktop.

On desktop, we do have the Permission button with some templates - confidential, personal, do not forward - but there isn't one that says "encrypt only" which I've read about. Are the Permission templates what we would be using rather than an outright "Encrypt" button in our scenario? 

I've also tried enabling the Encrypt button that's found in the quick access toolbar, but it's grayed out and can't be used. Does this button require certificates for S/MIME?

Outlook 2016 x64 - user cannot reply digitally signed message

A user xxx use an old computer A , and her mailbox is more than 10 GB. I going to migrate her outlook to a new computer B . but her mailbox is too big , the the exchange server is very very far away from the client. If the user xxx log onto computer B ,then open her outlook , then just wait for the outlook  synchronize data from server , it will be a very very long time (there is one case ,it took 3 days to sync all data completely).

So I came up with bellow solution , even though I know it may not work.

1. Close her outlook on computer A , then start new outlook on computer B, but after the first setup is completed on  computer B , then close outlook on computer B.

2. Then I rename this folder "C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook" to "C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook.new" on computer B. 

3. Then copy this folder  "C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook" from computer A to computer B , and put it at the same place.

4. Import user xxx's email certificate.

5. Then launch outlook on computer B.

At this moment , outlook seems work quite well , at least it can receive emails from server.

But very soon the user complain the outlook issue as follow:

1. She can send a new email without problem.

2. She can reply an email that does not signed with sender's certificate.

3. She never can reply any email that signed with sender's certificate.  computer will pop up an error windows , that is "A required action was not successful because of an unspecified error"

On the File tab, click Options> Trust Center> Trust Center Settings.

On the E-mail Security tab, under Encrypted e-mail , there are 4 check box

If I check the last 3 option , then the user xxx can receive or reply any kind of email , no matter it's  encrypted or not

But the user do not want to use the last check box , which is  required s/mime receipt for all s/mime signed messages.

What's wrong with my operation ?

How can I solve the "A required action was not successful because of an unspecified error" problem ?

Or any one can tell me how to copy outlook profile correctly for a user

Computer A : windows 7 ,outlook 2016

Computer B : windows 10 ,outlook 2016

Cannot move emails to subfolders after searching Outlook

Hi guys, 

I currently have the Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016, and have been having this issue for around 2 weeks now since my outlook was updated to the latest version. 

If I am going through my inbox normally, I can move emails into different subfolders both individually or in a group. 

However, after I search for something in the search bar (either in Current Mailbox, or in Current Folder) I can't seem to move any emails into folders. They will just stay in the inbox and not move at all, even when I close and re-open Outlook.

This has made it really difficult to organize my inbox as I need to go through and find individual emails from a specific thread that I want to move out of my inbox. 

I spoke to someone on Live Chat and they asked for remote access to my computer, however I'm not really sure I'm able to do this as I'm on a work computer so don't really have the liberty to give remote access due to confidentiality. 

Has anyone else been having this issue? Any help would really be appreciated :)

Outlook Crashing

Randomly experiencing this issue, usually when outlook (and a few email) have been open for more than a day. I have depleted my google-fu skills in trying to resolve this issue. This is within a VM environment and the outlook is configured online to an on premises exchange server. 

This error is a bit generic and I have been chasing down several rabbit holes looking at several solutions. I have tried the office analyzer tool, set outlook to a different profile, run office repair, and even attempted a reinstall. I issued a separate VM and the problem seems to have followed which makes me think it would be server related. I have run it in safe mode with the same issues being encountered and even disabled all plugins. 

IS THERE ANY SUGGESTIONS? Please help me in keeping my sanity in tact... :)

Outlook 2016 flickering (Office 365)

I have a strange issue where one user is complaining that his Outlook will start flickering on occasion. Seems to happen randomly. I've uploaded a clip below of the issue:

So far nothing I have done has resolved it. Steps <g class="gr_ gr_35 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar multiReplace" data-gr-id="35" id="35">taken</g>:

  • Disable all un-necessary outlook add-ins. He doesn't want to run in safe mode for a few days so that's the best I can do.
  • Did a full online Office 365 apps repair via control panel
  • Set him up with a new Outlook profile
  • Made sure his Office 2016 was up to date.

Anyone see this before?



Removing Calendar Delegation but still getting Invites

Hi, Could anyone assist?  Through Calendar Permissions, we have removed one user (user a) as having permissions to view another user's calendar (user b) - however usera still gets invites from userb - she rightly cannot access as she gets access denied but is frustrated that she still gets these invites. When looking at Exchange Server, under Manage Full Access manage, or Manage Send As - there is no mention of usera (again rightly so)

Hi everyone,

I hope you will be able to help me. We have a shared mailbox used by 15 people on an O365 environnement.
We have a macro to tag emails once they are processed, this macro consist of adding a tag by editing the email subject an then moving the email to a specific folder.

Starting today, we get this error when running the macro whatever the workstation :

Run-time error '-2147219956 (8004060c)'
The message store has reached its maximum size. To reduce the
amount of data in this message store, select some items that you no
longer need, permanently (shift + del) delete them.

The mailbox size is 7Gb over 100Gb total
The online Archive is 10Gb over 100Gb total

We can still receive and send emails from this mailbox. We can also move email manually from a folder to another one.
But we cannot edit even manually the subjects of received emails, we get the same error. Rather than the macro itself, it seems that the cause is the sibject editing.

I have no clue where to look for to fix this,

Using Outlook 2013 to handle my IMAP email (TWC).  For whatever reason, when I send an email to another email account that i manage, the recipient never gets the message.  I monitor the recipient email via webmail access and it never gets the email message.  I have disabled the spam filter on the recipient's account and still does not receive the email.

However, when i send the email (using the same TWC account) via webmail, the recipient gets the message! 

I have deleted the account in Outlook and reconfigured the account and the issue still remains.  I can send to other email accounts and have no issue. 

I hope you can assist me on this matter! 

Exclude specific locations from protected view

Hi,

Recently users in my company experienced problems opening Office documents that were received as attachment in Outlook. They had the same issue when opening files from Alfreso.

I fixed it disabling protected view settings in Word and Excel. But disabling the protected view settings will allow everything and is not secure.

Is is possible to keep the protected view options enabled and exclude email attachments en Alfresco documents from being blocked when opening them? So exclude specific locations from protected view?

 

Issue with view of multiple calendars in Outlook 2016

User is experiencing a strange problem.

She has around 6 calendars open side by side in Outlook at all times. About once a day the alignment of the times between the calendars will be off for one of them. It's not specific to any one of the calendars.

When it happens the one calendar with scroll independently of the other calendars. Clicking anywhere in the calendar view will usually fix it and they align again.

I’ve tried:

  • Upgrading Outlook
  • Changing shared folders from cached to not cached
  • Running outlook /resetviews
  • Removing/re-adding the calendars
  • Re-creating Outlook profile/OST

Still happening. Hate to have to open a case with Microsoft for this but I will if I have to. Hoping someone else has seen this and knows of a fix.

How to print calendar with details?

Hi,

We use Outlook 2016. One user requests to print his calendar to PDF file with the following items:

1. Option to select the date range of the meetings

2. Details of the meetings

3. People who accept the meetings

I found that #1 and #2 requirements can be met if printing to Adobe PDF printer, but can not print people who accept the meeting. I wonder if there is a way to do it.
