Outlook 2016, Password Saved and its not prompting for Password "Always Prompt for Login credentials" greyed out

I don't want the password saved, and I want it to prompt whenever I launch outlook (btw connecting to hotmail.com) from my laptop.

Security tab "Always Prompt for Login credentials" greyed out. 

Please help  / advice.


Outlook 2016 configuration succeeded only after disabling IE proxy

Hi,

In our environment we have exchange 2010 and windows 7 clients with outlook 2010. All clients are in intranet only. We do not have internet clients. However we are using internet only for limited sites and patching etc through proxy server. Recently we deployed few windows 10 clients with outlook 2016. 

We are facing issue while configuring outlook 2016 on windows 10. While configuring outlook shows error

"The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action"

We have tried to troubleshoot the issue and we have found that when we disable the IE proxy, outlook 2016 configured without any issue. 

Seems proxy settings on IE 11 on windows 10 with outlook 2016 causing issue. While same proxy settings with IE 9 and 10 on windows 7 with outlook 2010 is working fine.

Any help will be appreciated!!!



Outlook crashing when printing certain HTML emails

Been dealing with this issue for a month or so now. There are emails which come into a certain inbox which when we try to print, Outlook freezes entirely. Eventually it does print, however it takes a couple of minutes. This happens across multiple workstations. The strange thing however, is that the user also receives these emails to his main inbox, and he is able to print them without issue.

I have done every bit of standard Outlook troubleshooting I can think of, but today I finally found some new useful info. When I went into the Trust Center settings in Outlook and navigated to the Automatic Download page I was able to uncheck the box for"Don't download pictures automatically in standard HTML email messages or RSS items"

Once I unchecked this box, the user experiences the same hangups when trying to print the emails from his main inbox. I reopened Outlook, turned that setting on, and restarted Outlook. He was once again able to print the emails from his main inbox. I tried to print the emails from the secondary inbox with no success.

I couldn't find much info on whether these trust center settings apply equally to all accounts. When I open one of the emails in question from the secondary inbox, and go into Options > Trust Center Settings > and Automatic Downloads the setting is applied like it should be.

Has anybody experienced anything similar to this? Or could shed light on what may be going on here. These issues did not occur until the recent Office updates where the icons were changed.

Same account on Exchange and Office

Good afternoon to all,

One of my customer have an internal Exchange Server 2016 Server (Exchange Server 2016 CU9) for his company. One of his user has adresse like john.doe@contoso.com. The customer has installed Office 2016 on his computer and when the wizard ask him to create an Office account for setup, he had used john.doe@contoso.com as "Office setup" email. Office get installed, very well, no problems. But then, when he wanted to configure Outlook, the wizard ask him his adress: he has given of course john.doe@contoso.com. Bing ! The wizard always failed because Outlook resolve that john.doe@contoso.com is an "Office" account and not an internal Exchange adress !!!! How can we get off this problem ? We have tried to delete "Office" account but the Office site said that this account will be deleted in something like 60 days !! We can't wait !!!

When an excel file that is set to automatically update links is open I am prompted  to login todav.syncedtool.com. How do you remove the referrence and link todav.syncedtool.com link in Excel. The link seems to be hidden and does not appear in the Data ribbon in the edit data links.

Contact Card in Outlook share point link pointing to wrong sharepoint

Hi

I have bot of a weird one here as its effecting people randomly rather than everyone.

In outlook, if some users create an email or calendar meeting, if they hover over a users name the contact card appears.  When selecting 'view profile > sharepoint' this is pointing at the wrong sharepoint site (we have dev, uat and production).  This isn't happening for all users but is affecting a number.

Users are on windows 10 with Office 365.

I have searched the web but anything I have found refers to older OS version and nothing exactly matches.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Outlook: Failed to update Headers

I am using Office 2010, and outlook for my email needs.

My internet provider is Spectrum, and they instructed me to use IMAP server. I followed their instructions and it has been working for the last couple of years, but it stopped working for incoming mails (outgoing seems to be working). 

When I opens Outlook 2010, and the following message appears; 

failed update headers/IMAP command failed/Protocol:IMAP/server: mail.charter.net/Port:993

What would be the solution here? I asked Spectrum for this issue, and they insist that this is not their issue, but Microsoft. however, the test message from Microsoft does show up when I access Spectrum Web Mail, but it does not show on Outlook 2010 Inbox.

Outlook 2019 - shared Mailbox - Send on Behalf permission not being applied

Hello,

We have some issues with our Outlook 2019(Online mode).

If we configure a shared mailbox on our Outlook 2019 while adding the shared mailbox email and password of the user that has full access and send on behalf of permission then this user cannot send any emails. Always getting the error message that the user does not have the send on behalf permission.

Why is that? I checked our Exchange 2013 and the user has Full Access and Send on behalf permission active. But still it does not work.

If the user configures an Outlook profile with his mailbox then he sees the shared mailbox and he can send from that shared mailbox without problem. And we can see "send on behalf of %USER". How come when we try to just add Outlook profile using only the shared mailbox the user does not have the permission?

In OWA it works fine too. So I am not sure what is going on her.

I even removed all permission and added them again, same problem. When I give user the "Send As" permission than it works fine too, but that we do not want.

Can anyone help please?

Hi All,

I have multiple calanders, one ont he server, one on PST and my personal mail.

At work, when i receive a meeting, it gets duplicated in the PST and server as below.

Server: Blue

PST : Pink

Personal: Yellow.

Am using outlook 2010

Outlook 2016 UI transparency bug

I'm using Outlook 2016 64-bit. Often, when switching to or maximizing the Outlook window, there'll be a UI glitch that makes elements of the interface transparent. You can see in the sample image. Disabling hardware graphics accelerationdoes not solve the problem, contrary to some suggestions. My Outlook is apparently up-to-date.  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and applying repairs or fixes, but nothing seems to work.  Any suggestions on how to solve this are greatly appreciated.

Import .Olm files in Ms Outlook 2013

I exported all the emails from outlook 2011 and transferred the folder using an external hard drive. I wanted to transfer all the emails from outlook 2011 to outlook 2013. But unfortunately this folder can't be imported in outlook 2013 for reasons I don't know. I have also looked up the import/export wizard that features no import function for .olm files.

Is there any other possible way to import this folder in outlook 2013.

Please help.

Outlook web Addins with graph api

I am trying to make Outlook web add-ins and want to use graph api in that, as on SSO article(https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office/dev/add-ins/develop/sso-in-office-add-ins) they mention this "add-ins that use SSO are not accepted in AppSource". Want to know how to get user based graph token to access the graph api in outlook add-ins.

I used msal js auth flow for authenticating user here the link(https://github.com/AzureAD/microsoft-authentication-library-for-js). When this code runs in chrome login popup get block by browser and in IE/EDGE login popup doesn't show off due cross domain.

Also after allowing popup in chrome i am able to get "Id Token" but "acquireTokenSilent(requestObj)"doesn't give any response. Is there any other method by which i can get graph access token in outlook web add-ins. And last the complete add-ins deployment process on AppSource.

Create Event in Outlook from .ics file without having to Accept.

I"m trying to send email to exchange and open it in outlook and have it automatically create an Event and not get the Accept/Decline option.

I have found that when I put in the contenttype -- text/calendar; method=REQUEST

Then Outlook automatically interprets it as an event, not just an attachment.  But then I have to accept.

But if I put in content type -- text/calendar; "method=REQUEST"

Then treats that attachment simply like a file.  I must open the file and then have the option to save which puts the event onthe calendar.

Maybe want to do can't work.  Could it be that Outlook has some special logic to treat method=REQUEST as more than a simply attachment and that's the only method for which that happens.  I could be that some action will always be needed.  If it's a request, you have to Accept and if it is public, you must save.  If I can confirm that, I'll got to plan B and can stop my research and tell the rest of the time there is no way to do it.

Calendar Reminders Not Showing

We recently moved to O365 and we've noticed that we don't always get a reminder on our recurring meetings. This happens on many Macs so is not just an isolated issue. Restarting does not fix issue and reminders are on under the outlook menu. The meetings show in the calendar but, we just don't ever get a reminder on the mac client. If I then log into OWA I don't see the reminders pop up as overdue either. Does anyone have an answer for this issue or some direction to help guide me of what I can try to narrow this issue down?

I opened regedit and negotiated to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Preferences\MaximumAttachmentSize and I found this information
Default REG_SZ value not set
REG_DWORD 0x00102400 (1057792) This is supposed to be value for REG_DWORD 32bit decimal
But I could not find how to save it I believe that it saves automatically when you exit regedit is that correct?

I install fresh copy of Win 10, and Office 365. All working good expect Outlook.

When I start it I get message from subject and then i have to click on OK to turn off my Outlook.

Outlook People Peek Only Showing Some Users IM Availability

When I use the People Peek feature in Outlook it is only showing some people's IM availability. I can hover over the other users without an availability status with my mouse and then they'll refresh. I've got a user that uses this all the time and the mouse hovering is driving her crazy.

Here is what it looks like before I hover with the mouse.

If I hover over the names that do not have an IM status with my mouse it will then update it.

I can't figure out why some of them show up initially but others do not. This is happening in Outlook 2013, Outlook 2016 Click-to-run.

I have been trying to troubleshoot this issue, and it is very inconsistent. I have users who cannot set the Out of Office message in Outlook receiving this error "Your automatic reply settings cannot be displayed because the server is currently unavailable.  Try again later.". These same users are able to open Outlook on a different machine and successfully set their Out of Office message. I have seen the issue in both Outlook 2013 and 2016 (we don't have older versions in our environment). Also, different users using the same machine are able to set their OoO message successfully using Outlook.

I have tried the Test E-mail AutoConfiguration and verified the EWS url (https://mail.domain.com/ews/exchange.asmx) and OOF url (https://mail.domain.com/ews/exchange.asmx). I also see this on the log tab: 'Autodiscover to https://autodiscover.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml Succeeded (0x00000000)'

Based on the Test E-mail AutoConfiguration settings and the fact that other users are able to set their Out of Office message through Outlook I believe the server settings are correct.

In an effort to fix the issue for a test user, I tried these potential solutions which have all failed to resolve the issue:

1) Repaired the Office 2013 installation

2) Deleted the OST and let autodiscover setup the Outlook profile

3) Cleared out the stored credentials from Windows
    Control Panel > User Accounts > Manage your credentials > Select Outlook under Generic Credentials > Remove from vault
    Control Panel > User Accounts > Manage your credentials > Windows Credentials > selected (exchange server) > Remove from vault

4) Uninstalled Office from the computer. Restarted the machine. Deleted the following directories:
    C:\Users\testuser\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook
    C:\Users\testuser\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office
    C:\Users\testuser\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook
    C:\Users\testuser\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Office
    C:\Users\testuser\AppData\Local\Temp\outlook logging
Removed all profiles from Control Panel -> Mail -> Show Profiles
Removed any unecessary user profiles from C:\Users
Installed Office 2013
Launched Outlook and let autodiscover setup the Outlook profile

5) Switched from cached mode to online mode

6) Enabled extra logging in Outlook and tried to gather any new error messages. Compared the logs of a user with the issue to a user without the issue and there was nothing obviously different between them. I should have a log file at C:\Users\testuser\AppData\Local\Temp\OlkAS\date-time-oof.log and also date-time-AS.log. I do not have either log after enabling the logging in Outlook. This is true for both a user who cannot set their Out of Office and a user who can set the OoO message.

I am looking for additional steps to try. Thank you for looking into this.
