I've turned off filtering via Outlook 2013 but I've found junk mail still going to the junk folder.

I have no blocked senders - any idea why this is happening?

Hi there,

One of my colleagues just left and her emails are being forwarded to me.

I want to create a rule that will move these forwarded emails to a specific folder.

Is that possible?

If yes, how do I configure it (especially the select conditions)

Office365 Calendar Permissions User grayed out in Scheduling Assistant

two users

User1 is seen normally as I would expect, in both 'shared calendar' and 'scheduling assistant'

Permissions are

PS C:\> Get-MailboxFolderPermission -identity “User1:\Calendar”

FolderName           User                 AccessRights                                           SharingPermissionFlags
----------           ----                 ------------                                           ----------------------
Calendar             Default              {Reviewer}
Calendar             Anonymous            {None}

User2 is seen normally in 'shared calendar' but shows grayed out in /scheduling assistant

Permissions are

PS C:\> Get-MailboxFolderPermission -identity “USER2:\Calendar”

FolderName           User                 AccessRights                                           SharingPermissionFlags
----------           ----                 ------------                                           ----------------------
Calendar             Default              {Reviewer}
Calendar             Anonymous            {None}
Calendar             Bob                  {Reviewer}
Calendar             Willis               {Reviewer}
Calendar             Frank                {Reviewer}

I am at a total loss :(  The way the permissions are, I would expect user1 to be broken, but in reality, User2 is.  So confused.

I know I can force fix User2 with explicitly adding my user to the permissions, but the problem is across many users and many calendars.  How can I get User2's calendar to be visible (busy times) in 'scheduling assistant'

I get this several times a week when trying to send email in Outlook 2016 (MSI version).  When it happens, I must close the unsaved message and fish it out of my drafts folder.  Then make any unsaved edits and send.

There is a corresponding entry in the event log.

Possibly related, our organization recently started migrating mailboxes from our Exchange server to Office 365.  Before my mailbox was moved, I ran into this annoyance maybe once a month.  Since then it has only escalated.  It seems to happen more often when dealing with attachments and replies but not always.  I tried changing the draft auto-save time by increasing it to 10 minutes but this has had no effect.

Any assistance with this would be appreciated.

Hello all I ran into problems with installing office pro 2016. I didn't see office 365 preloaded in control panel. After I installed my volume lic key was used to activate. No issues till the next day. I had to activate again only this time was unable. I ran a few scripts with MS assistance to remove the office 365 and I was finally able to active. Only issue now is if I open outlook the 1st time it connects correctly able to send and receive email. If I close outlook and try to open again I can't get outlook to connect to exchange. If I leave the pc alone after like 15 mins it suddenly connects. No other PC on our domain does this. Any ideas? exchange ser 2016 laptop is win 10

Outlook Error: Your mailbox has reached its maximum size limit

I have been researching this error for several days now and I see that it comes up a lot with Outlook.com users but my scenario is different.  I have one user only out of 25 total getting this error in Outlook (Home & Business 2016 installation) when connecting to our Exchange Server 2013 Standard Version 15.0 (Build 847.32) - this is the on-premises version NOT online.  The computer getting the error is not joined to our domain as they are an off-site user. The full error is as follows:

Your mailbox has reached its maximum size limit at which you cannot send or receive any more content.  Empty your deleted items folder from Outlook or delete messages from your mailbox to create more space.

File: \outlook\pstprx\storeas\utils\airsyncstatuscodes.h
Line: 104
HTTP/1.1 200 OK
MailStatus: 115
To re-try press F9...
    0x80004005

The user can actually send and receive just fine as I've had them send several test messages which were successfully sent and received. However, the error keeps coming up with annoying frequency when the user has Outlook open. Deleting messages and emptying Deleted Items as the error suggests had no effect.  I know that the OST file is well under any limits as I've checked both the actual file size on the computer and the size reported by Exchange Management Shell.

DisplayName     TotalItemSize                                      ItemCount
-----------            -------------                                           ---------
L                        238.6 MB (250,143,914 bytes)           535

Most of the other users that have mailboxes on the Exchange server are using Outlook from Office 2013 to connect and I'm starting to wonder if this issue is due to this user being on Office 2016 version.  When the user logs in with OWA there are no error messages.

Other things I've tried that have not solved the problem:

- Increasing the default mailbox size in Exchange from 2 GB to 100 GB

- Move user's mail to a PST file and deleting the account, deleting the OST and re-creating the account

- Restart mail server

Afaik the user does not send large amounts of bulk messages but does sent out sales-related e-mails that have brochures attached, I noticed about 4 of these that were stuck in the Outgoing folder.  The attachment was about 8 MB in size. I deleted these but it had no effect on the frequency of the error message appearing.

The way the error is worded would make one believe it is a problem with that user's mailbox size but clearly that is not the issue.  Can anyone give any insight or suggest where I should troubleshoot next on either the Exchange Server or on the user's computer?

Selecting and moving many messages not working - try sorting by message classes

$

I posted this a while back, and have an update now.

I file my sent items.  Call me crazy, but I like to at the end of every quarter, move sent items from that quarter into sub folders.  It's usually 2-4000 items, and ever since I installed OL2010, I have had weird issues when trying to clean my Sent items.

Example:  Select 2000 items, sorted by date from Sent Items.  Drag and drop to my 2009Q4 folder.  It then prompts me "Creating a new item from the selected items could take some time. Are you sure you want to create a new item from these 2000 items?"

So I figured possible Ctrl is stuck down or something, so I right click, Move, select the folder.  Same issue.

I start selecting smaller data sets.  I got to about 50-60 items at a time that I was able to move and not get that message.  I got frustrated and stopped working on it.

This morning, I decided to re-test this.  Same issue presents itself.  So instead, I sorted by message class.  I was able to select 3800 message items.  The remaining items were messages with attachments, text/mobile messages, and calendar invite responses.

It appears that some combination of selecting multiple message classes was triggering my issue.  I suspect the newest of them, the mobile messages to be the issue, so I deleted them, and retried, nope, same error, even selecting only the show message class types.   Would like to see this fixed, of course, and will be sending a frown with the link to this thread as well.

Accepted Outlook Meeting request mails getting deleted upon acceptance in Outlook.com on the web browser or in iOS Calendar App

$

0

The Outlook invitation request mails get deleted from the Inbox of the recipient mail accounts in each of the following scenarios on Outlook.com calendar or office365 calendar accounts:

1.) when the invite acceptance is done on the web browser after opening the email on outlook.com; or

2.) when the invite acceptance is done on the web browser after opening Outlook calendar on outlook.com; or

3.) when the invite acceptance is done on the native calendar app of iOS or any other Calendar app like Google Calendar.

4.) when the invite acceptance is done from the Email portion of Outlook mobile app for iOS.

The above auto deletion scenario happens even if the option for "Delete Invitations and Responses that have been updated" has been disabled on the settings of outlook.com on the web under https://outlook.live.com/owa/?path=/options/calendarprocessing.

The case when the deletion of email invites does not happen is:

1.) when the invite acceptance is done on a desktop outlook client with the auto deletion option disabled in the desktop outlook client configuration under File> Options> Mail.

2.) when the invite acceptance is done from the "Calendar" portion of Outlook client app for iOS.

Kindly advise if it is possible for Microsoft to ensure that the add an option on the web version of Outlook.com for disabling auto deletion actually works and a similar provision is made for Calendar apps like iOS or Google Calendar.

SCANPST.EXE (from Office 2016 Pro Plus) is now systematically crashing

Hello all,

Following a few subsequent Outlook crashes, I decided to run SCANPST.EXE on my PST files.

I am observing that SCANPST.EXE is now systematically crashing on any of my PST files during the Repair phase with the following anonymous error:

Microsoft office component has stopped working

I first proceeded to a "Quick Repair" and then a full "Online Repair". No matter what, I am observing the same behavior.

Few months back, I successfully ran SCANPST.EXE.

I am current running the latest and greatest version of Office 2016 Pro Plus.

Is anybody would be aware of any updates that could have been responsible for such problem?

Just in case this would be pertinent, here is the captured event-log:

Why does my Outlook 2016 re-download already read emails into Inbox every 3 weeks from the server? Need help

$

I wrote about this about a month ago, and then though the problem went away but it just re-appeared yesterday.  I am really frustrated and would really appreciate anyone’s help.

As heads up, I have tried to re-install Office 2016 completely and I have run the Office Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT) (v2.2) and it does not anything wrong.  And yes, I have a legal copy of Office Professional Plus 2016.

A strange problem has started about two months ago, and it happens randomly.

I have been running Windows 10 and Outlook 2016 and have 4 Verizon email accounts.  All are POP accounts and converted without any problems from Verizon to AOL servers about seven months ago.  I have my Outlook parameters set to delete email from server if over 90 days and/or when Deleted from "Deleted Items" inside Outlook 2016.

For some reason, those emails that are still on the Verizon / AOL server (and already had been downloaded and read but NOT deleted), get re-downloaded onto my Outlook 2016 at random times.  This happens about once 3 weeks, and it does NOT happen to all 4 accounts at the same time.  One day it happens s to one, the next day to the other and so on.

I have double checked all of my Outlook settings and it all looks correct.   Again, you will find screenshots of my setup / problem by going here:

Outlook Setup screenshot: https://imageshack.com/a/img923/3590/jXtcYl.jpg

Outlook Inbox Screenshot: https://imageshack.com/a/img924/3268/LxRDYJ.jpg

AOLMail (Server) Screenshot: https://imageshack.com/a/img923/2462/xMxdhB.jpg

Office 2016 version Screenshot: https://imageshack.com/a/img922/5517/ifRwSJ.jpg

April 28, 2018 Inbox Screenshot: https://imageshack.com/a/img922/3563/wizNt3.jpg

As you can see in the screenshot example, Outlook downloaded these on March 27, I read them, decided to keep them and for some reason, they were re-downloaded again on March 31 as new emails (but in reality, repeats). And it just happened again in my main account on April 28.

The only way that I can deal with this is when these double emails shows up, I then choose to put them into the DELETED ITEMS, meaning when it's deleted, it's gone from the SERVER too -- which kills the whole idea of having a back-up of the needed emails for 90 days on the server.

I also check my email on my Samsung S7 phone, and I DO NOT have these re-download issues.   So, I am quite certain it's an Outlook 2016 problem?

This is happening on all 4 Verizon/AOL email accounts.

Anyone have any input as to what is happening?    And possible solutions?

How to change mail server hostname in Windows App version of Outlook 2016

$

Most of you know by now that Microsoft removed most of the email account settings from Outlook's mail account configuration this fall.  MS has a KB article

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3189194/how-to-disable-simplified-account-creation-in-outlook that explains how to get the old interface to appear so one can actually change settings.

However we have at least one client who apparently installed the Windows App version of Office, and it does not have the Office registry settings (and the above doesn't work when entered into the registry).  Further there is no Mail icon in Control panel and although I found the MLCFG32.CPL icon under the WindowsApps directory, double clicking it or trying to open via RunDLL does nothing...nothing appears.

Any suggestions other than uninstalling Office and reinstalling using the CTR version and then putting in this registry fix JUST to change the mail server name?  Deleting and recreating the email account seems easier, however, I have no idea whether or even how it will autodetect the correct mail server hostname since it is not the same as the domain name.

Thanks,

Steve

Outlook 2016/Exchange 2010 - keeps prompting for credentials

I have a user, running Outlook 2016, that suddenly is getting prompted for credentials.  This happens a minute or two after launching outlook, and then re-occurs every few minutes.  Outlook has been updated, there are no saved outlook credentials in credential manager, a new profile has been created and the prompts continue.  The strange part is that you don't need to authenticate, you can click cancel, and outlook continues to send and receive mail as normal, then several minutes later, the credential prompt pops up again, cancel and repeat.

sent items missing when using an .oft template - Outlook 2010 / Exchange 2007

Hi,

I created an .oft template located in "%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates".

When I create a new item using this template, the email is missing from sent items folder after the mail is sent out.

This is with Outlook 2010 + Exchange 2007.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Sebastian

EDIT: there are no rules affecting the mail, I also cannot find the mail using the search feature.
