Microsoft Outlook 2016 sometimes was hanging when view or open email

Hi,

I have one client running on MS Office 16.0.10827.20181 on Windows 10, sometimes when he opens or views email in Inbox, the outlook will be hanging.

I tried to create new Outlook profile and reinstalled MS office program to version 16.0.10827.20181, no avail. the mailbox size is around 9 GB as mailbox's limited size is 100GB. there is one pst file attached in Outlook which has the size of around 3.9 GB.

The issue happened almost 1-2 times per day, please advise what fix can I try?

I have a user that is using Outlook 2013 in a Citrix environment. When the user creates and email and saves the email in drafts to work on it later. When the user opens the mail later and tries to send it, they get the following error: "The function cannot be performed because the message has been changed". I researched this and had the user deselect the checkbox for "when a reply modifies a message don't move the original" but this did not help. In the email I watched, the user was also attaching PDF documents to the email as well.

Outlook issue with shared mail box conversation

Hello

I have a user who has a shared mailbox and doesn't display the conversation history if he sends an email via that account. However, when searching a user it shows the his email that was sent. (along with the sent email.)

Also, in the tasks he duplicate tasks for the shared mailbox. Can't be deleted from Outlook. In office 365 it doesn't show duplicate tasks? Anyway to remove this?

I need help figuring out how to get my Outlook 10 icon on the taskbar to get back to yellow original.  It went to a blank page thingy after running a windows Update.  Can't find it anywhere on my system

Outlook 2016 - Keeps asking for password

I have done my research.  I have now spent 3 days going through all the steps.  I have removed my email account and added it multiple times.  Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.  Today I keep getting asked for my password then it just sends an error that it cannot authenticate.  I dont know what to do anymore.  I have rebooted, logged in as admin.  I have another email account set up and that one has no problems, all the same settings

two users

User1 is seen normally as I would expect, in both 'shared calendar' and 'scheduling assistant'

Permissions are

I am at a total loss :(  The way the permissions are, I would expect user1 to be broken, but in reality, User2 is.  So confused.

I know I can force fix User2 with explicitly adding my user to the permissions, but the problem is across many users and many calendars.  How can I get User2's calendar to be visible (busy times) in 'scheduling assistant'

I want to create a rule that will move these forwarded emails to a specific folder.

Is that possible?

Hello, I am struggling with my Office 365 calendar.

I had a client sent me a reoccurring meeting for Thursday at 1pm. If he sends a time change or a room change it it is not reflecting in my calendar after I accept. If I try to manually change it it states it is locked by the organizer which is my client. Am I missing a setting?

This occurs on my laptop, desktop and iphone.


Opening old Exhange mailbox.ost with Outlook 2016

Hi everybody.

Thanks for reading this.

I have an old mailbox from my previous workplace. It is an older Exchange (2007 ?) mailbox .ost (1GB)

The file has the Outlook icon with a double headed arrow <-> at the bottom of the thumb.

I'd like to open the file in Outlook 2016 (home version) to search for information, but I am getting "The file you chose is not a valid Outlook data file - You must select a new file of this type"

Any ideas as to how I can open this a .pst?

How to open a local client archive .ost file on a new computer
We use Exchange 2010 Standard and Outlook 2013. I got a new computer and made a copy of my email archive that was being stored on my Windows 8 computer under c:\users\UserName\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook .  Now I want to open the archive to look for an old message.  Outlook 2013 won't open the file.

Error, "The file you chose is not an Outlook Data File. You must select a new file of this type."

Outlook 2013; File Menu; Open & Export; Open Outlook Data File - that will open the file browse window with the file type of Outlook Data Files listed.  To show the archive, I had to change it to All Files.  The file extension is hidden, but the details of it show the Type is "Outlook Data File".  If I try to open it, I get the error above.  Looking at the properties of the file, it is an .OST Outlook Data File.

I know that Outlook wants to open a .PST file, but I need to open an .OST file.  The Exchange Server did not change.  The network user did not change.  The only thing that changed was the old computer was removed from Active Directory and the New Computer was added - and the network user properties was updated to the new computer.

I create a outlook mailer by using table in outlook itself. For testing purpose I have forwarded yo my mail ID. When I opened its not align properly, showing extra space on right and left side of banner image. How to fix this ?

Outlook Reading Pane viability

i just purchased a new Surface Note 2.  Installed the Office line of products.

i have an Outlook question.  On all my other desktops with Outlook 2016 I have a set of buttons on the "preview pane"

that say Reply, Reply All, Forward  (I have a picture but Microsoft won't let me paste it until my account is verified.  Yet, of course, MS makes no mention any f'ing where on how to "verify" my account.


Yet on this laptop it is not there and i can't figure out how to get these buttons/quick launch links to appear at the top of the reading pane, above the senders email address and subject line.

Can anybody give  me a detailed instruction on how to turn this visability on.

Outlook 365 No Subject Line error message

I have Outlook 365 and intermittently when I start a new  email, add email address, add a subject line and then add body content and click Send, I will get a standard error message saying "No Subject Line" do I want Cancel or Send Anyway.  If I choose to send, it will wipe the subject line and send it.    If I send it just to my outbox than close Outlook without sending, then restart Outlook, edit the email in the outbox and add the subject line back in and send again, it will send without the error message.

How can I fix this?

Local Contacts from GAL disappear after a few seconds.

When we pull records from our GAL for users in 1 specific email domain and save them as local contacts, the records automatically disappear after a few seconds. We have a Trust/GalSync/Free Busy relationship with this other domain and we have also configured Exchange to treat this partner domain as internal, as messages exchanged between both organizations go over a Site to Site VPN. We have 2 other organizations that we have this same configuration with, but they do not exhibit the same behavior.

To reproduce:

Go to GAL, go to record: user@domain1.com and save contact locally and it appears for a few seconds and then disappears. There is nothing in the Deleted Items folder to show that it has been deleted.

I've put my Outlook into Offline Mode and then performed the same steps and the record stays until I reconnect again, and then it deletes the contact after a few seconds.

As a workaround, I can add the contact in OWA just fine and the record does not get deleted from Outlook.

Nothing worthwhile from logs, and I can't decode the ETL file for better logging, so I thought I'd try here.

Hello experts,

I have an issue in my office 356 outlook 2016, only some emails from auto mailing of the company showing content from the right to the left i changed the settings i did everything to change this view of this couple msg but nothing happend the only that i did and it work when i connect to outlook using outlook /safe the emails showing as well my friends in the company they dont have the same as i have i uninstal the outlook and profil nothing happend help please

I have Outlook 365. M provider is Earthlink. My problem is I cannot find a switch I used to have in Outlook.  I do not wish to leave emails on the Earthlink server, but the old switch that removed my email once downloaded is gone.  The closest I find is in my preferences.  But that switch can only help me by leaving 30 days of mail on the server.

How can I set outlook to remove emails from the server once downloaded to my laptop?

Is there any MBOX to PST Converter Free tool available? So that I can transfer my Gmail MBOX to Outlook. I have an existing MBOX file from my previous Gmail account. So I cant take any risk so please refer me any authentic tool.

I would like to know whether MBOX to PST Free Software is available or not. Or else I am ready to buy the tool. Also suggest me the best MBOX to PST Converter.

Outlook using conditional formatting to set category NOT a colour!

Hi Guys

So, I need to setup some conditional formatting rules in Outlook (2016) for calendar entries however, I can only seem to find a way to set a colour whereas, I have a fairly long list of existing categories. I need the conditional formatting rule to be able to set an existing category!

Anyone got any clues?

Presence Unknown in Outlook From Field and Sent items for Skype for business

Hello Team, 

We are using Office 2016 on windows 10. The issue is with Outlook 2016 where there is a presence unknown from the  sender of email.

If there are 5 people in the mail, then all of them will come up with the skype presence status. Only the sender of the email will have presence unknown and a blank status icon. 

If I send out an email to 5 people, then all of them will have a skype status in outlook except mine and it will come as presence unknown. 

This works fine on windows 7 with outlook 2010. 

If we check for that email address in skype, the correct status comes up. If we try sending email to that sender, the correct presence comes up. 

If we reply to the sender, the status comes as presence unknown. 

This is happening for all users in the domain. 

What has been done and still the problem exist

* installed the latest patches for July 2018  for office 2016 and outlook 2016. 

* Already followed and checked the display and its set on 100% : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3000421/outlook-2016-or-2013-email-messages-do-not-display-presence-icons

* Tried steps mentioned in https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/6a725a2e-425d-40ba-b482-01aef5186f3d/presence-icon-missing-in-outlook-2013-and-2016

* Unchecked and rechecked skype for business addin .

* Created the registry key under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\AddIns for UcAddin.LyncAddin.1 key and dword value 3 for LoadBehavior

I don't know when this stopped to work. If there is a hotfix for this issue, then please let me know. 

Junk Mail Filter

I've turned off filtering via Outlook 2013 but I've found junk mail still going to the junk folder.

I have no blocked senders - any idea why this is happening?
