Remove outlook plugin the Hotel California add-in

I added the dropbox plugin into Outlook 365 via appsource.microsoft.com a year ago and have been trying to remove this useless add-in ever since. It will not go away no matter what. it's no longer in the add-ins dialog box. the checkbox in Dropbox app settings is unchecked. i keep removing it from the ribbon and it keeps coming back. i installed outlook on a new computer and that add-in appeared there. don't ever install this add-in, you can never leave. 
please help me remove this devil add-in

I have been using template emails to easily pull up a draft email, which we use to respond to website queries, for about 3 years. However, in the past few months I think the templates have been getting corrupted or failing somehow because all of a sudden they won't open.

This seems to only happen to templates with attachments, but I used them for years and I need the attachments.

The files are all less than 5,000 kb in the folder I saved them in (the one I really use is 3,916 kb). However, when I view it in the "choose form" it says it is 4,009,984 bytes (4,009) kb, so it is a negligible difference.

The email is a little lengthy and has 2 attachments totaling about 3 mb, but like I said this worked fine with no issues for 2 1/2 years.

If I go to the folder I have them saved and open them (while outlook is not yet open) they used to open outlook and the email and work fine. However, just recently they will only open the email and reminders (no inbox) and give the message "The attempted operation failed. An object could not be found."

I have tried changing the file->options->advanced->custom forms : maximum space on hard disk to 5048 kb, but that doesn't seem to help. I've also checked for outlook updates and restarted many times.

What can I do to be able to consistently use my templates again?! I use these templates many times a day.

Outlook 2019 keeps asking for password - Triggered when signing in to Office Account or adding another account

We have Office ProPlus 2019 VL Outlook version 16.0.10340.20017 x64 running on RDS. This is a new deployment so it's a fresh clean RDS with new profiles. Email is hosted by Office 365 and not on-prem.

Problem is Outlook started asking for password when we added another email account of the same domain. It would be OK after signing in for the entire session but upon logout and logging back in, it keeps asking for password. This only happens to users with additional account - i.e. Own email + Accounts@ or something.

I have tried all suggestions from all places in the forums - clearing Password cache, Windows Credentials, Registry key fixes and Autodiscover to no avail.

Test 1:

I did a test creating a new profile using the same account which works fine on its own. But when I added another account, everytime the user logs in and starts Outlook, it prompts to enter password.

Test 2:

2nd round of test creating a new profile using the same account. This time without adding another account but then I logged in to Office App Account - found in File > Account > User Information. This also triggered Outlook to keep prompting to enter password.

Any recommendations is much appreciated.

When I change my mind, my task is not "completed" but canceled

I am always hesitating between erasing a canceled task or mark it as complete (adding a note that it is not) for it to stay in the exchange db for historical purpose

If i do not mark it complete, the other choices are

  • deferred
  • waiting on others
  • in progress
  • not started

the problem is that if i choose deferred or not started, it stays in the active tasks pool.

So my proposition :

Add a cancelled task status

Any toughts, ideas or explanation ?

Dear all, 

Would it be possible to use pst file in multiple computer at the same time? As I know when using share pst method, pst file is easy damage and probably lost data. Thanks a lot.

hi when I want to copy from two pc's in network  with remote desktop for back up from outlook I get the error 0x80070021 and I had checked permissions ,firewall, and outlook was closed I checked from task manager to see whether it is still running or not but what seems weird is that in other pc's of the network we can easily copy that files I don't know what is the problem with that pc? the windows of the destination pc is windows 7 X86 .

Outlook 2019 AutoArchive Scheduler does not work

Greetings,

We have Outlook 2019 setup on a VM that is only used to connect to a POP3 server to gather incoming e-mails.  No Exchange involved.  It has 7 mailboxes configured.


AutoArchive is configured to purge mail that is older than 2 weeks.  There is no actual archiving going on, just purging.  This is configured to run every day.  (See attached pic for setup)

The problem I'm seeing is that it never actually runs in the day.  Since there is no obvious way to see when the scheduled AutoArchive runs, I'm using some VB script to pull the info from the registry that I got from http://www.msoutlook.info/question/856.  What I've noticed is that the time that's presented will pass, the event never gets triggered (nothing gets purged), and the timer never resets for the next day.  The VB script will show the next time it will run will be in the past.

I am able to run the AutoArchive manually by going into File / Mailbox Settings Tools / Clean up Old Items... / Archive all folders according to their AutoArchive Settings.  I then see that things are purged PLUS when I run the VB script, I see the counter is then updated for the future.  Unfortunately, the next day, the event will again pass and still no AutoArchive.

This is a new install with hardly anything else on this Server 2019.

Please advise.

Outlook 0x800CCC0E error - Cannot connect to server

Ever since the end July Outlook Office 365 refuses to synchronise subscribed folders for two Sky email accounts. The error reports it cannot connect to server. Outlook also will not add a new email account this time a Gmail account reporting something went wrong could not save settings. The email accounts work without problems on android and MS Mail. I have used the sky accounts with email on this PC for about 20 months without trouble. I have tried every setting possible on the sky email accounts but always get the same cannot save settings message. Newly generated settings from adding accounts will not work. 

Any ideas of what I can try next as I have tried everything I can find on MS answers.

Gsuite Sync for Outlook + Iphone mail

Running Outlook 365 64 bit (version 1908) Desktop on top of Windows 10.

The problem started this week: Whenever I send a calendar invite from Outlook (desktop app) it shows up on iPhone users email as a non descript MIME-attachment.ics. Many Iphone users will not know what this is and may ignore or think it’s a virus. That is bad friction!

If I send from Gmail (web) then it comes through to Iphone mail fine. The problem appears to be in how mail and calendar invites are encrypted in Outlook and how GSSMO (G Suite Sync Microsoft Outlook) translates those invites. Best I can tell the cause was the latest Outlook updates (Sept 2019).

I have played with Outlook setting to send mail in plain text, and with the setting "when sending meeting requests outside of your organization, use the icalendar format". Neither of these fixed the problem.

While it would be easy for Microsoft to blame Google or Iphone and say call them, their switching costs are higher and most likely I may have to move off of Outlook.

User has issue of Fonts changing randomly Outlook 365 latest build

Hello, 

We have a user that is using a Microsoft Surface 1796 with Windows 10 profession and a standalone Office 365 suite. He is using his Surface with a docking station and 2 monitors. He notices that quite often his font (size and type) will change on his different office suite software (Outlook, Excel, etc). He said it will happen even while using the program without restarting or doing anything to trigger it. It makes for a frustrating time when he all of a sudden cannot read his folder pane or other aspects of his Outlook session because the font has changed and become smaller then usual. This also affects his Excel files as well where the size seems to change to something smaller than he is used to. 

We are not able to lock down these settings and do not know what the cause is but I am hoping someone here might be able to shed some light onto the situation. I know the option to change the font size of the folder pane was removed so I cannot make it any bigger but surely there must be a way to lock all the fonts so they stop changing randomly.

In the GAL I see all kinds of different columns that I can search by, but in the a users personal address book I only see Name, Display Name, and Email Address.  Is there a way to add columns in the personal contact search window?  Thank you for your time.

Is it at all possible to see the internet headers for sent emails?

I have a problem where emails intermittently fail to reach recipients. They appear in Outlook as having been sent, yet my recipients report no trace of it and I don't get any "message undeliverable" reports.

The sent internet header might help to pin down the problem.

Outlook Inbox view suddenly changed and can't reset to how it was

My Outlook Inbox view suddenly changed the last time I opened Outlook (using Office 365 ProPlus, version 16.0.6001.1034).  

I tried resetting the view, but that changed it to something other than what it used to be.

The view in my Sent folder is what I'd like the Inbox to be. I tried saving that view as a new view, then applying it to the Inbox, which got me close to what I wanted. however, all emails were displaying in order of who they were sent to, rather than who they were from.

Here's what it looks like now. I've outlined in red things that have changed. My "sort by" dropdown has disappeared (top-left blank area, as has the "Newest/Oldest" text and sorting arrow. Anew line of icons has appeared beneath the Search field, and the font size of the sender and subject of the message have changed--they used to be on 2 lines, now they're on one line and the font size is smaller.

And here's what my Inbox USED to look like, which is how I'd like to get it back to (this is now how my Sent folder appears):

As noted, I tried creating a view of the Sent folder, then apply it to my Inbox folder, but that caused all emails to display by "Sent To" as the default view rather than Sent From, and I couldn't get that to change and stick each time I'd close and relaunch Outlook.

I'm baffled. I've tried restarting Outlook, running Quick Repair on Office 365, rebooting the computer, launching Outlook in Safe mode, messing with the View...nothing has allowed me to reset my Inbox to how I'd like it to be.

Any ideas for anything else I can try? Thanks.



How to stop 'FROM' in email header column from changing to 'TO'?

My farthest left email column header has always been 'FROM'.  Recently it arbitrarily changes to 'TO' so if I'm copied on an email it sorts by the person who is the main recipient vs. the sender.  I don't want this; I want it to sort by 'FROM', or the original sender.  How can I stop this from happening?

Tenho uma aplicação em java, e ela usa um dos dominios da corporação que eu trabalho, porem ao fazer envio de e-mail apartir da plataforma aparece esse erro!

Uso um sistema de educacional, pois presto serviços para uma faculdade, alguma solução?

Images from Amazon not blocked by default

I have been building and testing HTML emails and everything I can find both on the Microsoft website and other places on the internet says that Outlook blocks images unless the senders are added to your safe senders list or you have changed Automatic Download properties.  For most email that comes in the images are blocked as the default settings should do but when I get emails from Amazon, their images are never blocked. I have confirmed that Amazon is not in my safe senders list, in fact I have no one in my safe senders list, and my Automatic Download properties haven't been changed from the default settings.  How is this possible?  Is there a master white list for Outlook that Microsoft maintains or is there some other way that Amazon is using so that their images are always downloaded regardless of Outlook settings?
