Deleted items from shared mailbox go to delegates deleted folder in Outlook click-to-run

Hi!

We've got users in Office 365 using a shared mailbox. Some of them have Office 365 installed and some - the pre installed version from Windows 10.

While deleting items from the shared mailbox they land in delegates deleted items folder. I found a fix from MS: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/202517/items-that-are-deleted-from-a-shared-mailbox-go-to-the-wrong-folder-in but it doesn't work with the click-to-run version of Office.

Are there any registry keys (or any other method) that can fix this issue in pre installed Office? Or do I have to uninstall the click-to-run version and install Office 365 from their accounts?

Migrate Mails From Outlook (mac) To Outlook (windows) ?

Hi Everybody,

I am in search of best solution for transferring mails from outlook (mac) to outlook (windows). There are a lot of mails that i need to transfer. I have looked into many forums for the solutions but most are for making IMAP account and all. I don't have such a good technical hand in doing such stuff, so i am looking for other alternatives. Fast and Problem solving answers will be really appreciated.

SyncWindowSetting following an Exchange Online migration

Hello,

following an Exchange Online migration we configured a GPO to limit Outlook cached mode to 3 months"Cached Exchange Mode Sync Settings"; at this point, we would like to lift the restriction without having remote sites exhausting their bandwidth.

I assumed Outlook was going to use the SyncWindowSetting (with a one time GPP) under "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Cached Mode" and leave users free to use the slider again, but apparently the setting is stored somewhere else. As soon as we remove the GPO the slider goes up to "all" (if configured before the migration) or "12 months" as described in the GPO setting: "If you disable or do not configure this policy setting, Outlook synchronizes the last 12 months of email messages to users' computers".

We have a case open but it's taking a long time; any hints/ideas?

Migrating from Apple Mail to Outlook2011

I recently switched from Outlook to Apple Mail, which was a relatively simple method.

But after having used Outlook for so long, i am not able to work my way as well on Apple Mail as i used to on Outlook 2011.

Now that i want to get back to Outlook 2011, i am not able to find any option to migrate all my mails back.

Kindly help out.

I added the dropbox plugin into Outlook 365 via appsource.microsoft.com a year ago and have been trying to remove this useless add-in ever since. It will not go away no matter what. it's no longer in the add-ins dialog box. the checkbox in Dropbox app settings is unchecked. i keep removing it from the ribbon and it keeps coming back. i installed outlook on a new computer and that add-in appeared there. don't ever install this add-in, you can never leave. 
please help me remove this devil add-in

User has issue of Fonts changing randomly Outlook 365 latest build

Hello, 

We have a user that is using a Microsoft Surface 1796 with Windows 10 profession and a standalone Office 365 suite. He is using his Surface with a docking station and 2 monitors. He notices that quite often his font (size and type) will change on his different office suite software (Outlook, Excel, etc). He said it will happen even while using the program without restarting or doing anything to trigger it. It makes for a frustrating time when he all of a sudden cannot read his folder pane or other aspects of his Outlook session because the font has changed and become smaller then usual. This also affects his Excel files as well where the size seems to change to something smaller than he is used to. 

We are not able to lock down these settings and do not know what the cause is but I am hoping someone here might be able to shed some light onto the situation. I know the option to change the font size of the folder pane was removed so I cannot make it any bigger but surely there must be a way to lock all the fonts so they stop changing randomly.

Outlook 2016 Cannot resolve recipient

Problem:  When sending an email to "any" external address using autocomplete, receive message, "The operation failed.  The messaging interfaces have returned an unknown error.  If the problem persists, restart Outlook.  Cannot resolve recipient."

This problem only happens with external addresses.  Internal addresses are fine.  I am not using PST files.

Current work around:  When creating a new email, I delete the external address from the autocomplete list and retype the address manually.  Email is sent.  But when I use autocomplete to send another email to the same address that I just typed in, I get the error message that it can't resolve the recipient.

Troubleshooting steps I tried but didn't work; (1) deleted/recreated Outlook profile using Control Panel/Outlook. (2) Manually deleted local .OST file and have Outlook recreate it. (3) selected "Empty auto-complete list" under file\options\mail\send messages.

In summary, if I am sending to a new external email address where I have to type it in, the email is sent.  Any subsequent emails to that same address fail as long as that address is contained in the autocomplete history listing.


Open hyperlinks in Outlook in Chrome

Chrome is set as my default browser, but when I click on a link to open a document from a online document management system, it opens in Edge and my login details don't work. If I copy the hyperlink into Chrome, it works a treat. I want to change my settings so all emails containing a hyperlink to a document management system, opens in Chrome.

September 17 2019 our outlook 2016 started asking for password.

September 17 2019 our outlook 2016 started  asking for password. we have an on site exchange 2016 w/ server 2016. Outlooks loads, after it connects to the server it starts working as usual within a couple of minutes the microsoft login screen pops up asking for password. It will not accept the password. or says account does not exist.  we "x" out click on "needs password" at bottom of outlook screens outlook then works normal for a few minutes then it starts all over again.

No changes were made to exchange or office just microsoft updates.  4 out of 8 outlook 2016 users at office have the problem all started on the same day.. The password and accounts are valid. We can log on to owa without a problem.

Outlook 2019 AutoArchive Scheduler does not work

Greetings,

We have Outlook 2019 setup on a VM that is only used to connect to a POP3 server to gather incoming e-mails.  No Exchange involved.  It has 7 mailboxes configured.


AutoArchive is configured to purge mail that is older than 2 weeks.  There is no actual archiving going on, just purging.  This is configured to run every day.  (See attached pic for setup)

The problem I'm seeing is that it never actually runs in the day.  Since there is no obvious way to see when the scheduled AutoArchive runs, I'm using some VB script to pull the info from the registry that I got from http://www.msoutlook.info/question/856.  What I've noticed is that the time that's presented will pass, the event never gets triggered (nothing gets purged), and the timer never resets for the next day.  The VB script will show the next time it will run will be in the past.

I am able to run the AutoArchive manually by going into File / Mailbox Settings Tools / Clean up Old Items... / Archive all folders according to their AutoArchive Settings.  I then see that things are purged PLUS when I run the VB script, I see the counter is then updated for the future.  Unfortunately, the next day, the event will again pass and still no AutoArchive.

This is a new install with hardly anything else on this Server 2019.

Please advise.

Using Office 365

For some of my contacts (not all), in the reading pane I see this message

Item contains active content that cannot be displayed in the reading pane. Open the item to read its contents.

I am not using Exchange.

I am using a custom form.

I have created a new profile, cleared the form cache, tried a new form, re-indexed, started in safe mode, created a new data file, repaired Office. Nothing so far works. When I create a new contact using the same form, the data appears no problem.

I have ready through multiple items online and I think tried all the options.

Any suggestions?

Outlook 2016 corrupts on Windows 10

PC running windows 10 pro with office 2016.

After week end or (2 days non use) Outlook fails to launch for viewing. In the task manager it shows outlook running but we have no desktop view.  The application does not open to see the outlook client, the balance of office 2016 word excel etc. all launch and can be used.

I have uninstalled from control panel, i have uninstalled using Msft uninstall. When reinstalled again outlook 2016 works until 2 days not in use. The reinstall works as does both the local and on-line repair tool, i also have to end process to perform repairs. Once again though something causes outlook to not be able to be viewed despite it showing it is running. 

I also have made sure its installed in the control panel, under programs. 

We have this occur on both Dell pcs, identical units with outlook 2016.

Noticeable Alert when not connect + automatic attempts to connect

I'm using MS Outlook for Mac ver 16.29 on my employers Office365 account, and Outlook is frequently disconnected from the Exchange server without notifying me. The usual scenario is that I'll notice that I have not received new emails or meeting invitations for a while, but nothing in the Outlook interface suggests that there is a problem. 

There are no red/yellow alert icons, exclamation marks, or popup alerts windows to let me now that Outlook has taken itself offline for some unknown reason, such that I am missing important office communications and appointments. 

Is there a fix for this? If I look down at the bottom right corner of the Outlook main window, I can see "not connected" written in greyed out letters that blend in with the rest of the text on the status bar, but that will not get anyone's attention 

I'd like to get a popup alert every few minutes saying "you are currently disconnected from Exchange, would you like to continue to work offline?" That would let me know I'm offline ( not connected ) so I can fix the connection issue and not miss important office communications. 

A blinking red "not connected" notification in the bottom right of the status bar would also work.

Can't change passwords for email accounts. Outlook 2019

I upgraded to Office 2019 and needed to change a password on an email IMAP profile.  No matter what i did the field would not hold the new password which resulted in the inability to change it.   i ended up calling for tech assistance who went in through the email set up in Control Panel.  I knew the ports for the profile or, as i was told, it would have been a lot harder to setup.  When he set up a new profile (not changing the password as really needed) for the profile i wanted to just change the password on, it killed my calendar and contacts on the other 2 profiles i had previously been using.  I had these backed up and could reload but this should not have occurred. 

I am OK now but wanted to report this problem to the product team.  Thanks.

Unable to Select Multiple Email Attachments

Hello,

I just upgraded to Microsoft Outlook for Office 365 MSO 16.0.11328.20418 32-bit.  I am unable to select multiple email attachments using the mouse's shift-click or ctrl-click.  When I try to select a subsequent attachment, the first one becomes unselected.  I am using Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1.  Please fix the issue.

How to stop 'FROM' in email header column from changing to 'TO'?

My farthest left email column header has always been 'FROM'.  Recently it arbitrarily changes to 'TO' so if I'm copied on an email it sorts by the person who is the main recipient vs. the sender.  I don't want this; I want it to sort by 'FROM', or the original sender.  How can I stop this from happening?
