What are the registry settings needed to make the Max OST or PST file size 80GB ?

folder pane "normal" is greyed-out, cannot select

Hi,

When outlook takes half of my screen, the "normal" option under folder pane is greyed-out. Also, I cannot open the folder pane and "pin" it ("pin" icon is absent).

How can I ALWAYS have the folder pane visible ?

Or how can I prevent outlook from changing the view when I resize outlook ?

TNEF Format

I use office 2016. Most of my contacts are stored on iCloud. It is integrated with Outlook. When I email an attachment to them I get unwanted TNEF formatted attachments. These contacts are not internal to Exchange.

I have tried the trivial 'solutions' (like specifying HTML format only). This does not work. Suggestions please?

IMAP email problem

Hi 

Apologies upfront I am not a technical minded person so this may sound very vague but I will describe my problem the best way I can.

I am using an IMAP account & it keeps downloading the same email message again & again, the email first came through on Saturday. it was fine Sunday & yesterday, but today its just re-downloading it again & again and after deleting all the extra ones its now flashing the extra one on & off all the time its really annoying how do I stop this happening its not the first time I have had this problem last time I took office off & reloaded it back on but I don't want to keep doing that every time this happens as I have several IMAP accounts for my business that I have to monitor & I don't want to have to keep reloading them all back on plus it's happened in one of the other accounts before too that went on for days that time before it finally stopped doing it.

Tenho uma aplicação em java, e ela usa um dos dominios da corporação que eu trabalho, porem ao fazer envio de e-mail apartir da plataforma aparece esse erro!

Uso um sistema de educacional, pois presto serviços para uma faculdade, alguma solução?

Microsoft Outlook Showing garbage

Hello,

One of our organization's user is having issue with her email Subject text[which she sends],the subject text turns into garbage when the email is sent.It has appens randomly.She can mostly send it with subject having normal text.

Kindly look at the image and help me out

What I have tried:

  • I creted new outlook profile
  • I have run windows updates on her system

But issue still persists.

I have tried adding image/link but it says "Body text cannot contain images or links until we are able to verify your account."

Implementing safe search in an enterprise

We are being asked to implement Safe Search in Outlook.

I understand that it requires a GPO and a file with addresses that are white listed basically.

My question is... how is this managed in an enterprise environment typically?

Anyone else implement this successfully? What does your configuration look like?

Do you have the file on the network and each client looks to the network to validate that the sender is or is not on the list?

Is the list locally on the box? If so how do you update the list? How does that work in your Citrix environment if you have one?

We use PVS so that may complicate the citrix question if the file is to be stored locally.

Can't expand folder for shared mailbox

Hi,

We had a little problem with shared mailboxes last week where some users lost theirs.

Now there is someone who can't access their shared mailbox no matter what. They got their full access added back during last week, but it never showed up.

Today we tried to manually add it to the users Outlook and received the following message whenever we tried to expand the mailbox.

"Can't display the folder. Can't open the folders. Can't reach the file C:\users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\mailaddress.ost because it is being used by another process. Close the program that's using the file and try again. You may need to restart your computer".

We have tried clearing the folder above, making a new outlook profile and re-installing Office but none of these have worked.

I should mention that user can access the mailbox just fine through OWA.

Do you have any ideas how we can resolve this?

Outlook 2016 for Mac not showing Groups for one user

Hello,

I have a mixed environment of PCs and Macs that run Outlook 2016 with Exchange Online (Office 365). All users of the PCs can use and see all Groups in Outlook and all but one Mac user can see their Groups in Outlook. I have one user that cannot see Groups at all on his Mac using Outlook 2016 for Mac. He can see Groups just fine in Outlook on the Web and from a Windows VM machine. I have troubleshot everything in his online and Outlook profiles but nothing has worked to resolve the issue. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated!

I have a user who when they go to File > Open > Open Outlook data file they get an error "you don’t have appropriate permission to perform this operation. " I've completed the following troubleshooting steps: 1) Repaired Office, 2) Created a new Windows Profile, 3) Created a new Outlook Profile, 4) Elevated user rights to an admin, 4) Re-installed Office 2010 5) Confirmed there is no GPO or registry setting preventing me from selecting this option. This is on a Windows XP SP3 machine with Office 2010.

Sent Emails in Drafts After Sending Successfully, Also can't delete these emails.

Outlook 365 part of 365 Business. The email account is IMAP.
Windows 10 (Pro) and Office 365 (Business - or whatever it is called) are fully up to date.

The email was working absolutely fine for many years until a few days ago and to our knowledge no changes have been made.

If an email is created and sent without any waiting period the email will send fine and no 'draft' copy will be made. However, if an email remains in 'draft' state for a while a copy will be created in Drafts and that copy will then remain in Drafts even after the email was sent successfully.

Furthermore, the emails that stay in Drafts can't be deleted. The only way I was able to delete the previous drafts was to log on to the email server and delete them there.

Hope you can provide help for this rather irritating issue.

Outlook Bcc Issue Not Resolved

Hi All,

I am facing strange issue with my outlook need support to resolve this long pending issue.

Product Details:

Outlook 2019

Exchange 2016

Issue: Most of the time I am in bcc of any mail going out from company, Some time it got automatically sorted by outlook to sub folders. I created folders manually so that after reading mails from inbox i will move them my self but outlook sometime does this automatically. I clear all rules but still the same. 

Done all below still issue not resolved.

Configured profile again

Checked from OWA nothing in it

Checked from server no rule from shell for any user as well

Checked using MFcmapi & clear all hidden rules as well

Added new rule where I am in not in to >> drop in inbox

Nothing in the global rules

Outlook 365 - The server you are connected to is using a security certificate that cannot be verified

I've just installed Office 365 on a new Windows 10 Pro computer in our office. Every time I start Outlook I get the message, "The server you are connected to is using a security certificate that cannot be verified. The target principal name is incorrect." The dialog has buttons to 'View Certificate', "Do you want to continue using this server? 'Yes' / 'No'. I click 'Yes' and Outlook comes up, but I have to click 'Yes' every time I start Outlook. Is there a way to NOT have this message come up?

I do understand why it's giving me this message. I have specified STARTTLS for the incoming server connection. The certificate is issues to the public domain name mail.mydom.org. Our mail server is self-hosted, IMAP. I have specified the incoming mail server as mail.dom.local, which, of course, doesn't match the certificate. I get it. However, I want all email to/from workstations to deal with the local Mail Submission Agent on our local mail server, and not get routed "outside" to the public domain.

I am using port 143 for incoming.

Outlook 2010, Thunderbird and Mac Mail all gave such a warning, but allowed the exception to be permanently stored so I didn't have to click the "'Yes' continue using this server" each time I started the email client.

How can I get this Security Warning to STOP popping up when I start Outlook?

Microsoft Outlook 2016 keeps asking for a password

I have Microsoft Office Pro Plus 2016 through a community college that uses office 365 and I am getting a need password every time I go into outlook 2016 on my primary computer but on my surface 3 and my developer computer it works fine

I have tried the Microsoft office recovery program that is supposed to fix this issue with outlook 2016

I have had these issues before but not as bad because normally the program will fix itself after I use the recovery program

The thing is I have my student email syncing into outlook 2016 through the exchange server through office 365

Any help would be much appreciated

Outlook 365 Email response tracking not accurate

I have been troubleshooting this issue for one of our VIP's. They have been having issues to where the email tracking to show who as accepted or voted is not tracking correctly.

In the research it seems that if the original email sent out with the vote information is moved from the Sent Items folder, this will break the tracking feature. I have check this, and the original email is in the Sent Items.

The weird thing is, the VIP is getting emails with the users responses. However, most of those responses are not being tracked in the overall table/grid view.

We have also noticed that those who respond or vote within an email from their smart phones, that action is not tracked either. The response email is sent, just the not tracked in the table/grid view.

Is there a better way of troubleshooting this issue to provide the VIP with information?

 

 

Outlook Shared Calendar Event Cancellations

We use shared calendars at my work and let's say there are 2 partners named Bob and Joe. If Joe invites Bob to a meeting with a client and Bob accepts, it will appear on both calendars. If I were to go in to Joe's calendar and update the event with more details such as client phone number, update location, etc it will appear on Bob's schedule as a cancelled meeting. This didn't use to happen because there was a button to update meeting without sending an update, that button cannot be found now. I was told by a customer support rep that there was a recent update that might have affected it, but other than that, I have found no answers. Any ideas or help? 

Outlook 2016 continual password prompt

We are upgrading from WIN7 to WIN10, and from Outlook 2013 to Outlook 2016.

We run our email (POP3) through DSLExtreme and our own domain name.

In all prior versions of Outlook we've used, once the password was entered to access the mail server you continued to receive mail until closing the program. Enter one time at program start up. "Remember password" has never been selected.

Outlook 2016 continually requests the password every time it accesses the mail server. For some every 5 minutes, some every 10 minutes, whatever the interval is set up for.

It will continue to receive mail without the password prompt if "Remember password" is selected, but then does not require sign in then next time Outlook is started. We prefer to be able to open Outlook without downloading new email until we actually enter the email password, so just putting a password to open Outlook would still allow mail to automatically be received.

Is this an Outlook 2016 issue only? Or Outlook 2016 with WIN10? Or only POP3 accounts with Outlook 2016?

Is there a workaround to the constant password request other than "Remember password" ?
