Hi. How do I downsize my *.pst file for outlook 2007. Deleting folders and their content does NOT work. My *.pst file is now more then 8 gig!. Thank you

Believe .PST file to be damaged (or just way to big)

Recently Outlook has been giving me an error "Outlook cannot open this item. The item may be damaged."

I can see some emails, but only very recent ones. I cannot send emails. I cannot read older emails.

I tried the scanpst.exe, but the .pst file doesn't seem to be where it is supposed to be. When I do a search for .pst files on my system, it does not come up.

Ideas?

Need a .pst recovery tool to repair damaged Outlook storage.

Hi,

I am using Windows 7 Enterprise and outlook 2010 edition

Suddenly I got the "Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Unable to open the Outlook window. The set folders could not be opened. The server is not available. Contact your administrator if this condition persists".

It worked only after creating another outlook profile. Is there anyway to solve the issue without creating new outlook profile.

Getting this error on Outlook for Mac 2011.

The server for account "(Account Name)" returned the error "[ALERT] Too many simultaneous connections. (Failure)." Your username/password or security settings may be incorrect. Would you like to try re-entering your password?

Wasn't getting this error earlier, but have been troubled with it for the past 2 days now.

would appreciate any solutions.

Outlook 2010 Hyperlink not working

Windows 7 machine with Office 2010. I just had to rework my computer because my HHD had a melt down. After buying a new HHD and reinstalling all of my software i am having issues with my Outlook Emails. When i open an email with a link, when i click it i get an orange bars scrolling across the email box. It's like it's actively blocking the link from opening. I have tried to disable my anti virus and spyware and that doesn't help. I am also using firefox instead of IE. I know there is a working setting because it worked just fine before my re-install. Please don't post any solutions that require me to use IE because I refuse to use it.

Thanks

I just went into my Defaults and opened the Set program access. I have a custom configuration active and in it under default browser the "use my current web browser" is checked and both IE and FF are Enabled. I have tried to change the selections just to see what would happen and they go back to use current when i reopen the set program access window. It's not saving my changes.

In my default programs / File associations the .htm and .html are associated with Firefox.

I was just looking back at a few changes i made recently that might have caused this. On another forum i read about fixing an Outlook error i was getting. I ran a fixit posted there and i believe this current problem started after that "FIX". Here is a link.

Old Read Recipts Sent

I have a user on Outlook 2010 and Exchange 2013 who went on holiday in April 2014

While he was away 11 emails were sent from his mailbox at 05:34 on a Sunday with subject marked "Not read: ...."

All the emails were 2 or 3 years old. So no automatic deletion policy would have run on that time range

Also the emails are in different folders and there are multiple recipients

What would have triggered these read receipt notifications to be sent?

Thanks

Missing emails moved to folder in Outlook 2013

HELP! I just started working in Outlook 2013. Emails that I move from my inbox to inbox folders disappear as soon as I move them and I can't find them when I do a search, nor can I reverse the action. These are important emails that I need to keep for my work. I have only recently backed up my .pst files so they will not be in that. Thanks in advance.

Outlook 2013 (ugh...)

Granted I suppose I'm pushing the physical boundaries of Outlook 2013 (15 profiles defined in both POP and IMAP) - but no matter what I try to alleviate issues I get this 5 times a week at a minimum. Forced to kill the process and restart. If I'm lucky - I'll be able to restart w/o issue. If not - I have to run SCANPST on each of the .OST and .PST files associated with Outlook. I've tried turning off ADD-INs. I've tried running without ADD-INs. I've tried running in SAFE MODE. I've tried repairing. I've tried reinstalling. I've even tried to migrate myself off of Outlook and onto Thunderbird - but I needed the Outlook feature-set. No real question here - just a bit of frustration on a product that appears very problematic compared to the rest of the 2013 Office suite.

I get log files delivered to my Outlook and am having great difficulty searching for IP Addresses.

the search box separates the octets because of the period used. (ie xxx.yyy.zzz.aaa) results are returned for every xxx or yyy or zzz or aaa.

how do i tell outlook to search "xxx.yyy.zzz.aaa' only - (quotes don't work either)

i tried using 'search folders' but get the same result

Why is Outlook 2010 eating my deleted emails? How can I make it stop?

Hi there,

Outlook 2010 is automatically permanently deleting my POP emails when I hit the Delete button. How can I get this to stop? First, the option to automatically delete emails upon exiting Outlook is NOT checked, and second, the emails disappear IMMEDIATELY when I click Delete and never make it to the Deleted folder. While I know I can Undo to recover an email I've just deleted, that's no use if I'm trying to recover a previously deleted email. I prefer to kill my deleted emails manually. What am I doing wrong? Is this because I'm using the trial version or is this a new 'feature'?

Thanks in advance for any words of wisdom.

Crashed HD...Need to recover email

Hi.

We were using Windows XP and I had Microsoft Outlook 2010 as my default email program.  My hard drive crashed.  Sent the crashed HD out and ALL files were recovered.  However they returned it to me on an external drive that is not bootable.

I now have Windows 7.0 on my new machine and need to recover my emails.  Can anyone tell me where those files are located on the original drive?  Not sure where to look.  Then need to be able to import them into Microsoft Outlook 2010.  Any help would be truly appreciated.

Outlook 2010 Calendar shows only text for Hyperlinks

I am working on a Windows 7 (enterprise) 32 bit computer installed with Office 2010 in an enterprise environment.  Outlook is on Exchange.

In Outlook Mail hyper links look and act normally, however in the Calendar all hyperlinks look like text. You can right click on the text and "select hyperlink" and they turn into a proper visible link you can click on, but the user would like to have them look and work normally without having to do that.

I have looked at all the settings I can find about hyperlinks in Outlook, and find nothing out of the ordinary and I have also done a repair on the OST in desperation and even uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled Office and downloaded a new OST, however there is no change. We work in a large enterprise environment and I have probably worked on thousands of computers here and this is not normal for us It seems like this would be some obscure setting I just can't find or perhaps something wrong in the registry. About the only thing I have not done is reimage the computer, but that seems extreme for this kind of problem, and the user would rather not lose the productive time while I reimage and set it up again. Can someone please help Thanks.

I am using Outlook 2010 with G-mail (IMAP server).  When I create an e-mail message and do not send it, it should be saved in the DRAFTS folder.  However, no message appears in the DRAFTS folder.  This also occurs if I save a message (nothing appears in the DRAFTS folder).  How can I fix this problem?

Outlook notifications don't play sounds when computer is locked

We are using Outlook 2010 SP1 on Windows 7 Pro 32 bit.  We have a group policy which locks computers after 15 minutes of idle time.  When the computer is locked either by the policy or manually locking the workstation Outlook notifications no longer play any sounds for notifying appointments reminders, task reminders or new email deliveries.

From some simply google searches it seems like the answer is that Outlook will not play notifications at the lock screen, however I can't believe this is the real right answer or that there isn't some sort of work around.  The whole smart phone industry is built around sound and light notifications whether or not the phone is locked so Windows OS should have the same configurations.  The work around of not locking your workstation is not a very secure answer
