Bypassing Disable PST files and Prevent PST file growth during Backup
Hi,
We gone back up pst across organization by 3rd party application on the centralized location. Backup solution uses VSS to create temp.pst before it backup to centralized location, however since organization already have Disable PST filesand Prevent PST file growth GPO applied, During backup it doent allow to create temp.pst (via vss) because of applied GPO. Is there any way we can by pass the policies during the bacup.

Outlook 2010 desktop alert not working
Hi,
1. I configured a rule to move some mails to another folder and checked"show desktop alert" in the rule configuration. Despite this, alert never shows.
2. Sound alert for e-mails arriving at inbox (no rules here) does not always play. Tried many combos here but didn't find any pattern explaining this behaviour.
These two things were working nice in Outlook 2003 but now I go unnoticed on many e-mails.
Regards.
Outlook 2013 Don't Test New Account
I can't add my office IMAP server because it fails the Test Account stage of the setup. In previous versions of Outlook there was an option not to run this test and the account would still be added. For some reason, my office server fails the test but once added it connects and runs perfectly.
Is there a way to skip the test in Outlook 2013. If not, I can't add my office server without first installing Outlook 2010 and then upgrading to 2013.
My Outlook email (old msn account) will not receive "Autoforwarding" emails from my Horde email server
I have a couple of email addresses (info@___.com) from my business website that I have been autoforwarding to my Outlook email account (old msn account) so I can manage inquiries from customers effectively.
As of April 30, none of these email messages have been "received" by my outlook account. My Horde email server is working since I forwarded emails to other email addressees without issues.
Please help! What changed?
Thanks,
Pete
View multiple Calenders from Phone
Hey All
I have looked at everything I can find and looked through the history on here and other forums.
I have just upgraded all my staff phones at work to the Nokia 520 so that staff can access their Emails and Calendars. That part is easy and the phones are set up and going well. But!
We need to be able to see each others calendars like we can on our PC's so we make a booking at check that it doesn't conflict with other staff members.
We gain access through a mail exchange server so I am not sure if that is causing me an issue?
Any help or guidance will be welcome! Thanks
Event dates are not bolded by Date Navigator in Outlook 2010
Event dates are not bolded by Date Navigator in Outlook 2010 on my own calendar. Events are set to busy but it is not working. View Settings > Other Settings > "Bolded dates in Date Navigator represent days containing items" is checked. This previously worked for 2+ years but recently stopped working. All plugins were disabled, Outlook 2010 was uninstalled and then re-installed. OST file was deleted and re-synchronized with Exchange 2007. While the OST was re-synchronizing the bolding worked properly but upon next restart of Outlook it went away. Another symptom is that my Scheduling Assistant does not show my free/busy times correctly in my local view. If I look at my own schedule via the Scheduling Assistant of another user, the free/busy times show up correctly. My webmail account also correctly shows bolded dates and free/busy suggesting that this is a local problem. Some screen shots below. Anyone have any ideas as to what I need to tweak? Using Oulook 2010 v.14.7116.500 (32-bit).
This is not a shared calendar.
Exchange/Outlook 2010 Server Side Rule
Hi guys,
Does anyone know what happens with regards to rule that forwards email received to a new destination (in this case a contact) but the outbound message size limit is breached. In normal operation Outlook would pop-up a message indicating but what happens in the case of the rule. Would it fail and retry or what?
Thanks

Outlook 2010 Paragraph Marks
Hi
Outlook 2010 appears to keep turning on the paragraph marks and other hidden symbols on it's own! I know how to turn them off but they keep coming back on their own! I've even swapped PCs with a brand new installation with no success.
As soon as you start a new email or rpley to one it shows the marks and if I send an email with marks in the reciever can't see my text so I have to keep turning it off.
Any ideas? This is really annoying!

Outlook - OST issue
We have a user setup with 1 outlook profile but in that profile that have 3 data files pointing to 3 mailboxes on the same exchange 2010 server. It is setup this way so the user can send from one of the mailboxes as that user/alias, when they save as as draft it saves in the drafts folder of the relevant mailbox and sent are saved in the relevant mailbox.
The issue we are having is regularily mail gets stuck in teh outbox of one of teh mailboxes. There are 2 fixes. 1 restart outlook and the mail sends. If that fails we need to re-create there whole profile again.
The error they get when it gets stuck in the outbox is task XXX@XX.com -sending reported error (0x8004010F): 'outlook data file cannot be access'
Has anyone come across this issue.

Outlook 2007 and Roaming Profiles and Multiple Email Accounts
Here is a problem that has me stumped and I can't seem to find a fix. I have five users, each with roaming profiles using Windows 8.1 Pro on a Server 2008 domain. There is one community email address to which all users must have access. That one is set up as a POP3 account and messages left on the server. Each user has an individual IMAP account. The trick here is the roaming profiles. I can move the data file for the community address to the network as a .pst file (set to default) in each user's roaming profile. The fun part is that I cannot get the second, personal, email account to point to the data file I copied from the %AppData%\Local\Microsoft\Outlook folder and placed in the roaming profile folder. I tried creating a new profile with the correct information, but it still points to the local folder and not the roaming profile folder (for clarification: not the %AppData%\Roaming folder, but the profile folder stored on the fileserver).
Is there a way to set up Outlook to be configured the same and accessing the same data on every computer? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
e-mail landing in Dust bin
Configuration: Office 2013, IMAP with Gmail
Situation: When I am writing e-mails, they are landing in dust bin automatically. Namely when it takes longer time to write something or I should do anything in the meantime, number of e-mails in dust bin is increasing with elapsed time. Behaviour seems to be random but repeating.
Question: How can I prevent from sending e-mail into dust bin? (I do not mean to clear dust bin before I quit.
TIA

sending mail smtp vs exchange without outlook mailbox opened
We have an application published via Citrix Xenapp 6.5 on win2k8r2 servers which uses server-side Outlook for composing/sending mail. The user does a one time setup of the Outlook profile through a Citrix published Outlook.exe. After the setup their Outlook profile is then retained in their Citrix/roaming profile and Citrix published Outlook.exe is no longer opened directly. When the user clicks an 'email' button in the application, an Outlook send/compose window from the server appears with the contents attached and ready to be mailed. Up until now employees were using Exchange mailboxes and this functioned perfectly. Hit 'send' on that compose window and the message would get sent. We are now migrating most mailboxes to IMAP and have found that in order for the Citrix Outlook instance to be able to send its mail via SMTP, a server-side session of the Outlook.exe mailbox has to actually be opened and not just the compose window otherwise the messages appear to send but are actually just sitting in the outbox. No errors. Once Outlook mailbox is opened, the messages get sent out. We dont want users to have to open up a separate Citrix Outlook instance as this creates confusion with their usual client-side Outlook and it's unwanted for limited resources in Citrix sessions to go towards sync'ing mailboxes. Seeing the same behavior with Outlook 2007 sp1 and Outlook 2013 sp1 x86. Why would this work with Exchange but not SMTP and can anyone suggest workarounds?
I'm not knowledgeable with vbs/vba but i was considering whether it's possible to launch outlook hidden from the user or to script initiation of send/recv session on the mailbox at scheduled intervals without outlook open, thinking that might send what's in the outbox. these are some areas i've looked into but havent gotten results yet -
Email remains in the Outbox when the StrictAccountOrder registry value is non-zero
Force outlook to "Send/Receive All" using VBA

Continual Prompt When Sending Outlook Email
I added some S/MIME certificates for signing/encrypting and now Outlook triggers a Windows Security prompt for every single email I send. It's getting a bit frustrating.
Here's the prompt:
I had this configured and working in Win8.0, with no such difficulty.
How can I tell Windows/Outlook to remember my answer, so I won't have to see this for every outgoing email?
Thanks,

Recalled message notification from different user?
Hi,
I have a client who has several shared mailboxes, and full access is given to these via Exchange Management Console (2010,SP2). Clients are using a combination of Outlook 2010 and 2013.
Recently, a few messages were sent out from the shared mailbox by User A.
One minute later, these same messages were recalled by User A.
What happened then is that the shared mailbox got a notification regarding successfull message recall, but the senders were not User A, aka the person who actually recalled the messages. Also, the users listed as the sender of the successfull message recall was NOT a recipient of the original messages.
I'm struggling to figure out why this happened. Any tips?
